From ponderosa with Sazz and Col. Nice steady walk with the odd steep little bit, nothing too bad! Great views of Moel FamauLaura.W19/05/2019
First hill today, started in layby opposite the Ponderosa Café, crossed main road and walked left along the road to gate. Stay on main track, a bit steep in a few places. Nice views at first summit. Carry on along the track to take a side path to Sir Watkins Tower, the ruin remains of an 18th century folly tower. Again nice views of the Dee Estuary and Cheshire in the distance.giant_hiker06/05/2019

Pleasant walk from the Ponderosa, where I have not visited since I was a child. Stunning views. Visited both tops, including the trig and the heather covered cairn. Nice peaceful place, Ponderosa was busy and indeed full of bikers. Gift shop is actually quite sweet.tumpawumpa01/09/2018

From WSW, hard track up from the Ponderosa. An easy nut rather boring walk up a rather boring hill, but a likely superb viewpoint on a clearer day.Topographer5711/05/2018

After Moel y Gamelin. Tarmac and concrete track to the summit area. The shortcut path on the steepest bit is very overgrown and not recommended.Minto13/06/2017

Wow! What a fab walk. From Chainbridge hotel to Llandynan, up past the slate quarry, with awesome views of the Dee valley to Moel-y-Gamelin. Down to the Ponderosa, and a fast, cake-fuelled ascent to Cyrn-y-Brain (good views, ugly masts). To the trig, and back on Offa's. Up the track circling around World's end for an amazing finale along the top of the crags, joining Offa's via an interesting descent path. OS map hopelessly, completely wrong in a good way! Down the road and canal towpath to finish.Gill15/10/2016

Glyndyfrdwy to Coedpoeth. An easy walk up from Ponderosa. The summit isn't much, marred by the masts but Sir Watkin's Tower is a must visit -the views west into Wales are something special and it was hard to tear my eyes away to leave. Fair to say, I didn't expect this hill to be the highlight of my day, wonderful!Jake99408/04/2016

After Moel y Gamelin. Visited Sir Watkins Tower and trig point as well. Lovely views.bowlesy25/10/2015
Started by the Ponderosa Cafe and followed the access track up though I did use the obvious grassy path for a short while on the right of the track. Visited the cairn shelter at the summit then went on to the trig and Sir Watkins Tower. Glorious late summer afternoon, all of the heather was in bloom with lots of pipits and lower down a few stonechats.Peterb11/09/2015
