Llyn Celyn through forest to footpath via Nant-y-Coed to Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast to Carnedd y Filiast to Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn to Arenig Fach. Descend via east ridge to Llyn Celyn. Clear weather, but cold and windy. Saw nobody all day. Walked solo. Once past Carnedd y Filiast, the route was mainly pathless and very rough going ... bogs and tussock grass! Arenig Fach a nice wild mountain with a fine corrie tarn, though the others were rather forgettable lumps!jamessteel10005/04/2018

As part of Nuttall walk 6.2, with Penda, 6.5 hours. Easy thanks to track and path.beorwulf08/07/2017
Original Welsh Nuttalls completed in 2003. Found this addition on discovering this web site late last year. Easy - if wet - continuation from C y F along fence. One more to go in Beacons - glad this wasn't my new last Welsh N.JohnIvor13/03/2017
I thought that I'd completed the Nuttalls back in 2000 - until they came up with all of these piddling new ones. So here we go again with a recompletion on a rather insignificant bumpColin Crawford09/09/2016
Parked at Llyn Celyn. Pen Garneddwen, Foel Boeth, Carnedd Llechwedd Llyfn, Carnedd Y Filiast, Waun Garnedd Y Filiast, Craig Yr Hafod, Graig Ddu and Craig Y Garn. Some horrible heather bashing en route!!AlunRees3108/07/2016

From free parking area near dam. Used PF`s up onto moor then tracks to just S of Foel-boeth summit. Then up to summit & across moor to Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfan. Dry underfoot after all the sunshine. Alternative summit presumed to be cairn by fence. Then followed fence to Carnedd-y-Filiast & Waun Garnedd y Filiast.mart079703/06/2016
Parking at start of track by A4212 at SH 86165 41040. Foel Boeth > Carnedd Llechwedd-llfyn [Llechwedd-llyfn] > Carnedd y Filiast > Waun Garnedd-y-filiast then back down track.David Gradwell08/05/2016

Nuttalls route 6.2 to Carnedd Llechwedd-Ilfyn, then down the SE ridge over Foel-boeth.Crib Goch11/04/2016
Having not bothered with the Nuttall top on 2 previous visits to the main top I thought I'd vary the route and so pulled up at Nant Fach. Mr Farmer not at all helpful with parking though so headed up the other road to the path near Defaidty. Very good track picked up to near pt 509m but then followed old wall and fence. Torture of a route. Rough near pathless. From summit just descended direct to lake. Doubt i will ever be back.stig_nest04/04/2016

Up forestry track which soon runs out so left with gorse and briar and no track until wall found then quickly up to Pen Garneddwen, deep heather and wet to Foel-boeth then Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn [Llechwedd-llyfn] then trough of Bowland damp walk to Carnedd y Filiast then Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast then back to start of track which was followed to road to avoid further deep heather and bog. A very good choice of return route.Dugswell207/09/2015
With Minnie. From layby parking to good track start at 859 411, then heather & vague tracks to Foel-boeth, then vague & very boggy tracks to Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn, along fence to Carnedd y Filiast, boggy again along fence to Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast, back to track by Carnedd y Filiast, contour round Brottos & Foel-boeth back to road, over cast, occiasional Sun & occiasional showers.apricorum28/05/2015
Nuttalls route. Easy path to follow - a track until last half mile then follow fence - a bit boggy! If doing full Nuttalls route I recommend you follow fences all the way up Arenig Fach.johnjennison28/05/2015
Nuttall walk 6.2: Foel-boeth - Carnedd y Filiast S top - Waun Ganedd-y-Filiast - Carnedd y Filiast - Carnedd Llechwedd-Llyfn NE top - Carnedd Llechwedd-Llyfn - Lechwedd-Llyfn - Arenig Fach. Agree with other comments this is not a good walk.ronaldo33325/05/2015

CHAOS Club meet..Neil, Andy, Steve and guest Frank..Nuttalls walk 6.2 on a hot clear day..too much walking knee deep in heather at the end!Lou08/08/2014
A short walk up from the top of the trail at Bwlch Blaen Y Cwm (873467). A bit of an uphill slog through bilberries (and the top would be boggy at some times of year) but the whole of the Welsh Three Thousanders were spread out to my right in all their glory, and the Aran ridge appeared to my left as I neared the top. One of the best views ever! A nice alternative to the Nuttall route up from Llyn Celyn, which I'd done in snow some years ago!ruthatlast21/07/2014
Fourth on way round to Carnedd y Filiast, after Craig yr Harfod. Walked via Llechwedd Ddu and then a long trudge up to Trum Nant-fach through the heather. Nice views from summit.Wheelsy21/06/2014

HOT, SUNNY DAY AT BALA CAMPSITE. FOLLOWED NUTTALLS WALK 6.2 ALONG EXCELLENT TRACK TO WAUN CARNEDD-Y-FILIAST, THEN EASY WALK ALONG RIDGE TO CARNEDD-Y-FILIAST AND CARNEDD LLECHWEDD-LLYFN. JOYCE WENT DOWN TO THE ROAD FROM THE COL WHILE I DID ARENIG FACH. HAD TO WADE STREAM, THEN EXTREMELY ROUGH GOING UP INCREASINGLY STEEP HEATHER AND DOWN STEEP FENCE TO MAIN ROAD. WOULN'T RECOMMEND EITHER ROUTE.BURGESS03/08/2013

Up the easy track from Llyn Celyn with Dan. First Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast, summit a cairn over the fence (last Km can be boggy), then back to Carnedd-y-Filiast and finally to Carnedd Llechwedd-Llyfn. Sunny day with light breeze, perfect.Glenelg15/03/2009
Parked at lay-by near the memorial chapel at Llyn Celyn. Used old track to Carnedd y Filiast then across to Waun Garnedd, sunny day but boggy, did the circular taking in Llechwedd Llyfn.SteveClay12/10/2008
Bit of a detour from Carnedd y Filiast, but a Nuttall. Small cairn of quartz stones and strange post in middle with horizontal cross piece on top: used for surveying perhaps?Aye Jimmy20/09/2008
This isn't particularly easy! Walked from the road by Lynn Celyn. There and back 4 hours. Excellent track until Carnedd y Filiast then need to stick to the fence as otherwise the heather is tedious.destaylor03/05/2008
