This is probably the best circular walk to be had in the Berwyns completing the 10 peaks on this hike. Parked in a small lay-by that could fit two cars by the stream on the minor road before the telephone box, its a 180 degree bend that you struggle to make the turn. I used the post code SY10 0DE to get to the start of the walk and this gets you into the correct location in the valley and very close to the start. Walk up to the phone box, take the lane up behind it, go through Maes farmyard and up to the bend in the road. The public right of way up to the left across the fields is clearly waymarked. Good views away towards minor hills on the left. From here its very straight forward to follow the route, we went right before the climb up onto the ridge to Cadiar Bronwen which had great views from the top. You have to retrace your footsteps up onto Cadair Berwyn and then onto Moel Sych. Then back again and cut across the front of Cadair Berwyn onto Moel Yr Ewig / Godor. From hBuckleymon07/03/2022

S along road to high point 362m then track W to crest of ridge then along fence lines to summit of Godor & N top. Took a direct line to Moel Poethion, unpleasant, then fence lines to Moel yr Ewig. Followed fence on to summit ridge through steep band, not too bad, then to summit of Moel Sych. Descent via E ridge and over outflow of Llyn Lluncaws then direct line towards Godor N top, tough terrain. Fence lines back to road. Cloud inversion lower down but high summits still in cloud.jacobrichmond06/11/2020

Easy bagging of Moel Sych on the way back down to Pistyll Rhaeadr across Trum Felen. 700 metre ascents, 7 miles walking, just over 6 hours (but with a big group of children).Cangarwbach19/04/2019

13.2 mile walk from Pistyll Rhaeadr, climbed up path by Nant Y Llyn then followed dried up stream onto the ridge (very rough), went out and back to Godor, then followed ridge over Moel Yr Ewig and lovely trail up face of Cadair Berwyn above the almost dried up tarn, joined ridge up to Cadair Berwyn summit (2nd time) and onto along to Moel Sych (2nd time), then descended path south onto Trum Felen ridge, then cut down the side on grass to footbridge over Afon Disgynfa, climbed on grass then hideous heather to Post Gwyn, then followed ridge pathless but fairly easy terrain all the way to Glan-Hafon (have to cross several fences on ridge one with barbed wire), then descended down lane and path to Pistyll Rhaeadr. Started walk in cloud, but got sunnier as the day went on and very hot, storm clouds towards end, didn't see anyone throughout: 6hrs 35.DanTrig13/07/2018

Solo walk. Start/finish in Tyn-y-Ffridd. Climbed Mynydd Tarw, Foel Wen, Tomle, Cadair Berwyn (both tops), Moel Sych, Moel yr Ewig and Godor ... basically Nuttall route minus Cadair Bronwen. 5 hours. Weather horrendous at times ... squally showers, gales, cold, but sunny spells in afternoon. A good walk; few paths and boggy in places but the escarpment of the main ridge is impressive, especially view of Llyn Lluncaws. Cadair Berwyn is really a forgotten mountain of Wales, despite its height ... saw nobody all day!jamessteel10022/12/2016

An intricate little path ascends from Tan-y-pistyll but seems not to connect to the main path towards Moel Sych, so it was back to the road for half a mile and then a track leads diagonally upwards. Very grassy, pleasant and gentle apart from one tricky stream crossing. The path starts to steepen and become wetter underfoot as it follows Nant y Llyn before reaching Llyn Lluncaws, whose surface is covered in moss. Finally it hugs the edge of a cliff while climbing very sharply, and as it levels out, the large cairn of Moel Sych can be seen to the left. This is supposed to be the best viewpoint in Wales but visibility was very poor today, although it was warm and humid.peter4lc06/09/2004

On a magnificent day with snow lying above 1300 ft: Tyn-y-ffridd- Mynydd Tarw- Foel Wen- Tomle- Cadair Bronwen- Cadair Berwyn- Moel Sych- Godor - Tyn-y-ffridd. Rock outcrops on the way up, and 10 cm of snow on the high summits- plenty of rock there, too. A few snow showers the a blizzard coming off Godor, but overall wonderful; the weather in high Snowdonia to the W looked very wild. This side of the Berwyns is lovely and in places exciting.
