Glasgwm, Aran Fawddwy, Drysgol & Pen yr Allt uchaf. | Yr Eryr Aur | 22/10/2023 |
This was a lovely walk. Climbing the western Arans from Cwm Cywarch gives a lovely approach. I climbed Gwaun y Llwyni, Waun Camddwr, Aran Fawddwy (a good view today, so I climbed it again), Gwaun Lydan and Pen yr Allt Uchaf. All finished off with a very steep drop on the northern grassy slope of Pen yr Allt Uchaf. | oldbagger27 | 20/06/2023 |

Aran range N-S. Beautiful day and an extremely picturesque range, the peace and calm only broken occasionally by the thunder of jets swooping over to perform aerobatics in close proximity. | Barns150 | 14/03/2022 |
Wet and foggy day to start. Climbed up here and walked the Aran Ridge. rescued 6 dogs on top which stopped me getting right to the top of the main mountain - got within 5m and the only reason I didn't make it to touch the cairn was trying to keep the pack together | davert123 | 24/10/2021 |
Nuttall walk 8.1.Pen yr allt Uchaf. Gwaun Lydan. Aran Fawddwy. Erw y Ddafad-ddu. Aran Benllyn. Gwaun y Llwyni and finally Waun Camddwr. With Hiking Manchester. Glorious weather and great company. | Lazylizzie | 24/07/2021 |

Nuttall's routes 8.1 and 8.3 combined plus a few extras - Pen-aran (at the end of the main ridge - a Bridge), Pen y Byn-fforchog North Top (a Bridge) and Y Gribin (a simm). 12 peaks - 29.93km - 5500 feet - took just under eleven hours (the GPS reckoned three hours were spent sitting on my backside!). Lovely sunny day until I got to Pen y Byn fforchog when the cloud descended and it began drizzling. Route through the forest was horrible. | Herbert Anchovy | 31/07/2020 |

Long walk from Cwm Cywarch around Glasgwm, Waun Camddwr, Aran Fawddwy and Drysgol with Sue and Shelley. Just over 10 miles, 7 hours walking and 1300m of ascent. Didn't see another person all day, amazing day out. Ridiculously windy, positively dangerous on some exposed parts of Glasgwm and Aran Fawddwy | Cangarwbach | 13/04/2019 |

Nuttall Walk WN 8.1 The Aran Ridge from Cwm Cywarch. Visiting Pen y Allt Uchaf, Gwaun Lydan, Aran Fawddwy, Erw y Ddafad-ddu, Aran Benllyn, Gwaun y Llwyni and Waun Camddwr. 19km with 1200m ascent in 7 hours. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 05/10/2016 |
Aran Fawddwy wildcamp to Drws-y-Nant. In the hot, clear summer weather we had, this was a very colourful and attractive bit of wild, albeit still very boggy. The descent to bwlch with Glasgwm and then to the forest in Cwm-ochr is a mostly horrendous squelch fest but the path is clear enough. | Jake994 | 16/08/2016 |
With G. Nuttalls' route from Cywarch > Pen yr Allt Uchaf > Gwaun Lydan > Drysgol > Drws Bach > Aran Fawddwy > Erw y Ddafad-ddu > Aran Benllyn > Gwaun y LLwyni > Waun Camddwr > Cywarch | RT1970 | 16/08/2016 |
Drove down to the head of valley, go past chapel and phone box, excellent parking for 40+ cars now at SH 85250 18856, complete with loo! Walked short distance back down road and then lane leading to ford and then good track up to the bwlch to the north of Y Gribin. Climbed this and then the good path to summit cairn of Glasgwym. On to Waun Camddwr and Gwaun y Llwyni. | nordicstar | 12/07/2016 |
Left bike at top of pass on the A470. Did Waun Camddwr Glasgwm and and finally Pen y bryn fforchog.
Forest had been cut down so I didn't think it was easy to follow the nuttalls route. Went down to the pass and cycled back - mainly free wheeling! | johnjennison | 08/06/2016 |

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH GOOD VIEWS. FOLLOWED NUTTALLS WALK 8.1 UP THE STEEP GRASS ONTO PEN Y ALLT UCHAF, THEN EASILY OVER GWAUN LYDAN. A STIFF CLIMB ONTO ARAN FAWDDWY, THEN EASY RIDGE WALKING TO ERW Y DDAFAD DDU AND ARAN BENLLYN WITH GOOD VIEWS OVER BALA, RHINOGS AND ARENIGS. RETURNED AVOIDING SUMMITS TO DESCEND STEEPLY AND THEN OVER ROUGH GROUND TO GWAUN Y LLWYNI AND EASILY TO WAUN CAMDDWR. DECIDED TO TAG ON WALK 8.3 TO AVOID RE-ASCENT AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FINE WEATHER AND LONG JUNE DAYLIGHT. A VERY HARD CLIMB ONTO GLASGWM, THEN EASY RIDGE TO FINISH ON PEN Y BRYN FFORCHOG. HOWEVER, THE FOREST HAS BEEN FELLED AND IT WAS VERY TOUGH GOING TRYING TO FOLLOW THE PREVIOUS RIDES UNTIL THE EASY DESCENT OF THE ZIGZAG - 10.5 HOURS WALKING. | BURGESS | 15/06/2015 |
Number four of four summits on this walk. Drizzle then sunny intervals, very windy. Aran Fawddwy (905m), Aran Benllyn (885m), Erw y Ddafad-ddu (872m) and Waun Camddwr (621m) from Cwm Cywarch.
