Poor conditions, gale force winds, bad visibility and very wet. Started off in Dôl Idris Car Park and followed the Minffordd Path (taking the right fork across the Nant Cadair) followed the path which was easy enough to follow, though steep and loose in places to Mynydd Moel, followed the path round to Cadair Idris before rejoining the Minffordd Path, slow going on the descent and not the easiest path to follow (and quite trecherous in the rain due to loose scree) from the summit but eventually found it and followed down to Craig Cwn Amarch and then Craig Lwyd. Steps in the wet were very polished but eventually got back to the car park in one piece.lboutside23/08/2020

Parked in Gwernan Lake Hotel car park expecting to be charged £5 on return which the owner kindly waived. Don't expect same courtesy in peak season. Followed Foxes path to col between Cadair Idris & Mynydd Moel, 2½ hours to do just under 2½ miles. Plan was to do all 5 easerly Nuttalls but felt too tired to attempt so headed east and picked off Mynydd Moel and Gau Graig. Descended down and along Gau Craig on well defined footpath not shown on maps, returning to hotel from Ty'n-y-bryn and Bwlch-coch along road. Tough route of 8.86 miles and 901m of ascent. Would recommend this as an ascent route to visit these two Nuttalls then on to Cadair Idris and two others nearby.mntainman10/03/2016

Third summit of the Day on a linear route from Dolgellau via Gau Craig ridge, visiting Gaug Graig, Mynydd Gwergcraig, en route to Penygadair and then on the Minffordd path to the Minffordd hotel. Conditions sunny becoming misty and then persistent mist and rain throughout the day until descending via Minforrdd path. Epic view from Mynydd Moel over to the Precipitous crag looking Sw along the ridge. The mist and rain really slowed down the walk so much so that by the time i got down to the A487 and had eaten and had been watered and fed at the hotel it was 5pm and too late to continue to Machynlleth.. Fortunately there is a bus not far away that travels between Dolgellau and Machynlleth!Dazingdale08/05/2014

Climbed Pony Path and walked along to summit of Tyrrau Moor. Returned and walked to Cyfrwy summit and had lunch at cairn. Walked along Craig Cau and Amarch before dropping right down to Llyn Cau for the caches. Reclimbed hill and walked to Cadair Idris summit, and ridge along to Mynydd Moel before dropping off hill to Llyn Arran and returning around the hill base to Llyn Gafr and Llyn y Gadair before returning to start. 15.8 miles.meltdiceburg10/08/2013

From Minffordd car park past Lyn Cau, Craig Lywd, Craig Cwm Amach, Cadair Idris, MynYdd Moel, lovely sunny day blue skies with no vapour trails.(Ash Cloud)mart079715/04/2010
Started off up the Minffordd path through the woods (from car park at 124-732115) but took a right signposted Mynydd Moel. Followed this up to a fence and then took a small grassy col east up to the fence at Mynydd Moel, carried on east to bag Gau Graig then followed the ridge to take in Penygadair where to hut was a nice respite from the wind for lunch. Headed out on the Pony Path to bag Cyfrwy and then back almost to the summit to find the Minffordd path for the descent. This was the only place of slight navigational confusion in the fog as we treid to avoid climbing to the peak and had to skirt round the edge of the rocks until we found a clear path. a knee bending descent took in Craig Cwn Amarch as out fith and final peak. 5 More Hewitts/Nuttalls in the bag.RutheH20/03/2010

On traverse of Cadair Idris tops from Dolgellau: Gau Craig to Braich Ddu including Cyfrwy. Then down to Arthrog. Sunshine but also brief patches of cloud on the tops, hazy, typical nice summer day on the hills. A long-awaited, long planned walk even to the detail of driving up the road towards Bwlch Goch, 25 mins walk from Dolgellau, to ensure catching the last bus back. It took 8 hrs. Highly recommended (6 Nuttalls).pwheeler31/08/1996

Start ~ 730115, Minffordd. Took the path up to Llyn Cau then the ridge over Craig Lwyd to Craig Cwm Amarch. Next we headed N to Penygadair summit before turning E to Mynydd Moel before descending to meet the outward route. With Andy Morris.steve hudson09/07/1994
In the early 1990s before I had even heard of Simms I did my own personal challenge of all the 600m peaks in Wales. I have a record of the summits but not the dates so I have selected this arbitrary date within the period for them all. Some I missed but this was one I did.dickscroop01/07/1994

Cambrian Way. Rain and mist - had just struggled up the side of the mountain up what felt like a waterfall, with map in teeth, and was making my way across the top taking bearings from one cairn to the next! Summit features are particularly welcome in those conditions, as are wind shelters!ruthatlast11/06/1993

Straight after my last final Uni exam, down by bus from Sheffield, then 4 glorious days of solitude, walking between hostels across lovely empty 2000 feet hills (Bridges). 6,500feet of ascent today (Day 1) in hot and humid conditions made for a hard day over 12 tops of the Cader group from Kings Dolgellau to Dinas Mawddwy YHChris Pearson10/06/1984
