Parking 400m W of WF control cabin SN930958. You can descend to Pantle with a steep re-ascent, or you can follow the WF tx, R at A9, R at A18, L at A22, allow 1 hour each way for the latterIsbjorn03/02/2024
Parked at the hugh windfarm car park. Easy walkiangalbraith15/08/2023
Parked at windfarm buildings then usual ascent route. Oddly enjoyable in blazing sunshine. Cuckoo's calling on the ascent along with spotting a Lizard and several red Kites flying around.KevPalmer13/06/2023
From SE, parking by wind farm control building. Up track over bridge and then through gate to stile over fence and up to wind turbine to join wind farm track which then followed to top. Went to trig and probable HP candidates. Good views to Cader and Snowdon on a clear day.PeterD03/04/2023
Good brisk walk from the start of the windmill farm round to the trig and possible man made mound. With Gmac.elizyanne05/07/2022
Large parking area by wind farm buildings ESE of Pantle. Walked windfarm roads to the summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave27/05/2022
As Underhill. Easy tracks all the way.Minto26/05/2022
Parked in the layby at 930 958 to make a bit of a walk of this hill. Plenty of parking though if you really wished you could have driven right to the summit.Peterb23/10/2021
With KeithbytheC. Parked near road end just before the teepee site by a gate before going over the bridge at 941971. Up track, then right up good grassy ATV track all the way to summit. Returned same route. 3.5miles, less than 75mins moving time.JulieB04/10/2021
From road head just before bridge that leads up to Teepee camp site in Cledan valley. Space for one car on steep bend just before white house. If you are good friends, could squeeze 2 more cars in. Followed excellent sinuous path all the way to summit. KeithByTheC04/10/2021

Bike ride and short walks from Caersws: Bryn Amlwg, Garreg-hir, Mynydd Cerrigllwydion, Ddifed. Was able to cycle all the way to the top of this one, albeit with some pushing in places.Mark Jackson17/10/2020
From the end of the public road, through the wind farm on a miserably wet morning.NormanW13/03/2020
From end of the pubic road to wind farm to south east, up from Carno. Turned off the wind farm road and ascended via the quieter Pantle track, rejoining wind farm track onto trigpoint summit. 4/4 Marilyn just as darkness fell.N.Morters17/01/2020
P by end of public road approx 3km W of Carno. Used mainly wind farm roads (initially rough ground for 600m NW) - rain & hill fog down to about 400m.ger23/11/2019
From SSE, starting at end of public road, via Pantle.Topographer5709/09/2019

1/6 Marilyn day. Ascent of Bryn Amlwg from the wind farm station. Mist coming and going on this rather bleak summit. 6.4km in 1h25m. (S)silveracorn_alan13/08/2018
Parked in Cledan Valley in teepee lay by just beyond end of metalled road. Was told on return that it’s private with permission for 8 cars only & a neighbour complains if more. None there when I arrived 3 on return so apologised & left as my hill was bagged. Followed vehicle track down valley to a bright red post box & took track heading up towards wind farm. Nice views apart from wind farm.rogreeves02/08/2018
A rather dull walk up a muddy, then grassy, track, to a scruffy hill with wind turbines. The teepee people appear not to be bagger friendly any more. There's a guests only sign at the car park, and they are sufficiently petty to come down the road and leave a pointless please do not park here note on my car, parked neatly out of their wayGill16/02/2018
From yurts campsite in Cledan valley, signposted off the main road in Carno. Followed the green lane as others- the wind turbines impinge less on this approach than some others. Excellent view, though Plynlymon through the turbines. Sunny afternoon after a rather grey, but fine, morning.pwheeler05/02/2018
FRpm parking place at SN 933960 walked down road and turned right at 930958. The pantle and into wind farm with good tracks to highest point. Operated ham radio from summit for SOTA.G4OBK (Phil)12/01/2018
Got dropped at Pen-y-borfa and walked up to end of road; then footpaths to Pantle. From there easy access to windfarm roads. Met GW4VPX (Allan) broadcasting from the summit. Turns out we had passed each other on Garreg-hir earlier.garyhoney28/08/2017
From the SW after parking at the end of the road and walking up to Pantle then joining the wind farm tracks which made it easy going underfoot. Dog on lead most of the way because of the resident sheep. Wife off lead.Father Ted18/08/2017
Déjà vu bagging another Pedwar in the black of night. At least there was some useful moonlight even if was a bit clouded over.Alex C15/04/2017

With Trefor. Drove to end of road and wind farm access track to summit via Pantle. Followed wind farm exit route down to car. Clear, good viewsmike.hoult13/07/2016
#591 - Parked at road end (930958), took new windfarm track via Pantle and all the way to the top.tim74709/06/2016
Parked near end of road in Cledan valley and walked up track through the tepee area (only a skeleton left) up to the wind turbine covered top.Cas-gwent22/05/2016
From roadhead in cwm Cledan. An old green lane runs all the way up to the trig and summit. Hard to ignore the whirlygigs though theyre far quieter than some ive been to. Bit of a shame they are there in my opinion because the view is truly sensational. Trig in good nick though missing its plug. Returned same way. No teepees today. Summited around 1415. Wind had dropped markedly from that experienced earlier on Esfair Ddu.stig_nest14/02/2016
from the yurts campsite to E. parking near 943970. Fine hill when looking away from windfarmThearlaichdubh13/09/2015
Parked at 942970 in front of a disused gate just before the bridge over the river (one space only). Walked past teepees up to summit. Wind farm has now reached the trig point but the valley is very pleasant.mindlessflogger19/06/2015
Parked at end of tarmac road at 930959, then used mountain bike to speed along the tracks to within 10m of the summit. 5 mile round trip, very windy, with the turbines making loud swooshing noises. I thought the area was deserted, but as I nearer the summit, about 30 vintage tractors came over the hill! It looked like a tractor club day out.Clive G25/04/2015
With Jenx, 4/5 today. Interesting access - follow signs for the typees from main road, after the river crossing by house ascend on the road to parking spot for the Cledan wigwams, parking here seems ok. Then the lovely green track to top, and more wind turbines :-( Ran back down from the top on the springy surface - just time for one more today.nordicstar13/12/2014

Parking area by tipis at SN93979 97091 – Followed track to summit. (PM)gerrybowes06/08/2014
I drove from Carno following signs for Cledan Valley Tipis where I parked in their layby. Long walk in for a 1 point hill on the farm access track. Operated from the trig point. No cap in the trig column so antenna pole went straight in.M0YDH26/04/2014

Parked beside wigwams to ESE then used tracks to summit in warm hazy sunshine.Dugswell224/04/2010
They seem to have erected more turbines and more roads since the map was produced. Trig point is still there by a slightly higher mound. Pleasant walk up the track from the end of the road by the River Cledan.clivevilla20/11/2009
Left car at top of camp site at 940971 (16:30) and walked along winding track to summit at N end of a huge wind farm. Trig pt in hollow between mounds (probably artificial). Clouding over at end of fine day. dbb13/06/2009
