A simple step stile would save the fencing from getting damagedIsbjorn05/02/2024
Up by fence from road summit to the north. Visited trig first, then alt hp in adjacent field. With Jill.Dangerous Dave02/02/2024
Quick bag after two earlier Marilyns. Dropped off at road highpoint then over gate and quick dash up to the trig point then back same way. On a nicer day imagine views are quite wide ranging.bowlesy27/06/2023
Accessed route through fields from minor road on south side of the hill. Returned same way. Started from our property 2km east. With Mr W, RW, GWWoolly Hattie13/06/2023
Circular walk from local private woodland along road past Boxtree to the south. As is often the case in rural Wales, footpaths on the map don't exist on the ground as farmers have fenced or hedged across them. From the field gate off the road SSW of the trig point, walked NNE up the hill to the top right hand corner of the field and through two gates to the trig point. Descended NW on the eastern side of the fence to the road fence and the frequently mentioned peeled back barbed wire gap. Very hot day with good but hazy views all round. With Gillian, Harriet and Mike.richard6913/06/2023
Same as others, parked to north near mast. Along road a short way to fence without BW and steeply up to trig. Quick up and down but good views.PeterD02/04/2023
From road to the north.Winterfloodian03/08/2022
Quick ascent after the legal visit to Upper Park earlier in the afternoon. Met another bagger, Dave, who had also been on the Upper Park trip. Parked up on the layby by the weather station and then over the fence just down the road where the barbed wire has been removed. Just sheep in this field but there were cows on the other side of the fence leading to the summit. I had spoken to someone at Upper Park who advised he had driven past this hill earlier and spotted bovine creatures near the top and was looking forward to reading this report.KevPalmer28/05/2022
While attending RHS AGM at Shifnal. As most people parked at the road summit. An easy ascent - up and down in 10 minutes. Along road to the E and just past the fence coming down it is easy to climb over the fence where the barbed wire is missingclimbingkershaw28/05/2022
I climbed this! Not so quick if you climb from valley to W which I preferred to do since on a 60K bike loop from near Guilsfield. Enjoyable slog through bluebell woods and pastures.davechaffey27/05/2022
Nice relaxed traverse of hill (after undercover ascent of Upper Park beforehand) from east to west, started by walking east along minor road to the north (limited parking at the western junction of this road near Llidiardu). Footpath signs all removed from this hill except the bridleway on south side (with no nearby parking) but lots of gates so no problem following desired line along crest.Nick Canute07/03/2022
From north. One of the easiest Marilyns?Wycombe Wanderer19/01/2022
Parked at weather station straight up over gap in barbed wire fence, over gate to trig. Back same way. Good views from top. 0.25 miles round trip, <8 mins walking time.JulieB05/01/2022
Parked by the weather station, then followed the road NE to a gate and then up the hill on easy grass, two gates and no fences. Fine views.Peterb22/11/2021
As per others parked by the weather station then cut through following the path straight up.Stevooo21/08/2021
Surveying a few P30s in the area with Myrddyn Phillips, and it was too good an opportunity to let slip by heading up here for a revisit. Amazing visibility today and just the most superb views in all direction.Twice Shy15/09/2020
From 131015 over the fence and up to the top in pouring rain. Not much fun.NormanW01/10/2019
Overshot parking on road to north: weather? station and gate for parking is to north of road. Gap in barbed wire is to the east, just after line of fence coming down from summit.henryfm16/09/2019
Quick up and down from the north side.silveracorn_alan05/08/2019
Easy peasy with GMacelizyanne30/07/2019

Over the fence where there was a gap in the barbed wire, up steep pasture, returned W via gate to the road at SJ129014. Only Ma of day also with 3 Tu and 2 Hu on way from Warwick to Newtown.pwheeler04/02/2018
Parked by gate at SJ131015, walked a short distance E along road and hopped over the fence where there was a gap in the barbed wire.Tony J17/12/2017
A bit of a drive by, by the usual routeGill02/11/2017
Via FP from road to south, wet. Trig next to barbed wire fence.steve_a03/06/2017
According to my 2016 OS 1:25000 there appears to be a permissive path from the road north of the summit direct to the trig point and this is where the bit of fence with rolled back barbed wire can be found in a gap in the hedge. The point slightly uphill from here where the RoW should start is a gap in the hedge with fence and barbed wire still in place.ijpowell13/05/2017
Parked as others. Went down to next field where barbed wire has been cut and rolled back. Jaunt up to top and back.SS15/04/2017
Five minute walk up from north. Still no stile or sign to mark this RoW, still a fence scramble into overgrazed field.Topographer5708/04/2017

An easy climb up, then some surveying to be done.jenx03/10/2016
Popped up from the road to the North. ROW missing, but barbed wire-free fence next to a small space to park, near where the ROW should start.huwthomas26/08/2016
Same as others from N. Nice views.twg2711/08/2016

With Trefor. Short walk from North. 5th of 5 Marilyns today.mike.hoult12/05/2016
Parked to the north on the narrow lane but with one parking place. No stile into filed but fence easy to hop over. An easy bag. Got caught out by my SatNav later as it directed me along a road north with a ford on it that I didn't want to cross. A lot of backtracking needed.Father Ted10/04/2016
Nice short walk from off road parking near field entrance to weather station. Followed fence up to trig point also over gate to field just incase. Returned by same route.mntainman24/02/2016
Got preoccupied with Tumps on the way over to this so Upper Park will have to wait for another time. Enjoyable cycle into Welshpool along the canal towpath.Alex C22/01/2016
Simple bag from waterworks access to NThearlaichdubh11/09/2015
Parked at the water works just north of the summit. No stile over the fence at the right of way, but the barbed wire has been cut back. A short sharp tick with a fine view.mindlessflogger22/03/2015
Second of five today in mid wales w Jenx. Parked at gate to North, soft verge in wet, over fence and short steep climb to top on pasture. Through gate and to trig/top. Grand views on a crisp clear frosty day.nordicstar13/12/2014
A five minute uphill walk on public path from parking place at SJ 131015. Lovely views right across to Corndon Hill from the trig point.G4OBK (Phil)11/08/2014
