Drove up from SO 08003 56890 through a gate just past Upper Gilwern to near the quarry hut at SO 08930 58228 where it is easy to turn. A short walk to the trig from there.Jim.Fothergill28/08/2018

Rainy and then sunny solo walk from Llandegley via Pawl Hir and Gilwern Hill cairns. Visited the nearby stone circle, red kites hovered over the large bronze age barrow that Gelli Hill trig is mounted on. Walked on to Llandrindod via The Beacon barrow.thesweetcheat23/10/2011

Stopped just passed the cattle grid on the road to the south. Went back for the drop and then climbed via the track before taking the path to within striking distance of the trig. The walk back was made all the better for the drizzle falling.garyhoney18/02/2002
