From the car park to the west. Took in some of the other wee carns to make a roughly circular walk. Gorgeous day with great views. With Keith, Ross (7) and Callum (5).islamidget01/09/2023

1st new hill of the year after the debacle of Claife Heights being shut and getting COVID. Drove over from holiday in Saundersfoot and parked to the E. Up the permitted path over the rocky outcrops to the top. Reminded me v much of Stiperstones but by the sea. Great views to coast and along the Preselli hills.robphys21/04/2022
Walked up with Xan from our cottage for the week at Tregynon. Descended through trees to Cwm Gwaun, nice walk along the river and then direct walk up across the Common to the rocky top. Met X's school friend Nathan who had walked up from Newport with his family (arranged after coincidentally meeting them on the beach a few days previously). Long picnic and chat at the top and then to their cottage in Newport for tea and a lift back.Herbert Anchovy21/04/2022

Parked on road (SN068378) and follow footpath to summit. Fabulous views on a moody day.Ramblingpaul13/11/2020
11.8 mile walk from Newport, followed Mill Lane out of the village and boggy paths up to Mynydd Carningli's fine rocky summit, very easy and un-scrambly from the west, then followed trails to Carningli Common cairn and then onto Mynydd Caregog (21m prominence), trig on Mynydd Melyn (22m prominence) and Mynydd Dinas with its impressive summit tor. From here descended through fields following fairly non-existant footpaths north-west to the immaculate Werndew farm briefly getting lost just before the farm, then down to the A487 and from here a great well-waymarked path to Cwm Dyffryn and its surprisingly impressive waterfall then straight along spectacular coast back to Newport. Afterwards drove to and bagged Cerrig Lladron. Sunny/warm with great views, a few people about.DanTrig06/09/2020

What a lovely top. Stayed ages. Did as part of a traverse of the Presellies from Crymach to NewportAlan Moore02/01/2019
From parking at SN 070373. The direct path is good until the upper rocks are encountered - these are very slippery - deviate to the right to avoid.Isbjorn13/11/2018
Up the RoW from the ESE. Faint path continues around the crags to safely approach summit from west. I am sure I could make out land across the Irish sea.Topographer5728/09/2018
From car park to the west. Swarm of bees at the summit!Poolton12319/08/2018

6/8 Marilyn day. The ascent of Mynydd Carningli from the road at SN 069 373. Scramble on the summit rocks. A lovely view of Newport and the Pembrokeshire Coastline from on high. A round trip of 2km in 1 hour. (S)silveracorn_alan10/05/2018

Walked back inland over this after a long enough day on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Made an epic but lovely circular walknickywood124/03/2018
A splendid hill from the National Park car park, with wonderful sunset views. The path seems to be an old tramway, and gives fast upwards progress. Higher up, the going is slightly reminiscent of the Rhinogs (peat and stones) but easy enough. Fun scrambling to be had whilst checking which of the tops is the highest.Gill11/01/2018
Linear from Crymych to Newportliljonb14/10/2017
Parked 038365, steady easy paths. Dry, sunny, warm and great sea views.iangalbraith04/07/2017
Parked in car park just ½ mile east of summit. Easy grass path to follow to base of steep rock ascent to summit, combination of natural and man placed steps. Very difficult to determine highest of 3 tors. Plumped for first one reached to the NE. Could have gone to spec savers should have checked survey comments on hill-bagging first. Visited all 3 just to be sure and ended up slipping on damp rocks picking up a couple of extra bruises, reminder that care needs to be takenmntainman24/11/2016
15.39 blowy but dry. Good view down on Newport and out to sea. My800th Marilyn! Hoorayvegibagger09/11/2016
fromn parking place SN 070373. To avoid boulder scramble take the right hand side path to avoid the worst of them - we didn't but route down was better. Visited for SOTA with MW0PYG and qualified on VHF FM.G4OBK (Phil)01/10/2016

From Newport- straight out of B & B opposite church, a walk of sustained interest with a rough finish through rocks, even a little scrambling to reach summit. Back via Carn Ffoi gave a return with no retracing. Half-day (3 h).pwheeler28/04/2016
My 125th Welsh Marilyn. A fine wee hill. You could spend all day on the summit ridge scrambling here and there. A stonking view too.stig_nest09/04/2016
Have been up this hill lots of times as it's such a nice hill for a short walk. Also a geocache near the summit.Neolith03/03/2016
