Summit cairn was our first checkpoint on Day2 of Black Mountains OMM, after a cold numbing overnight camp. Ran most of way up here from start wearing every stitch of clothing I had until warmed up eg 2 base layers, fleece jacket, 2 hats, cag with hood up, long johns, overtousers. Usual wet cold fell shoes from yetsterday. V strong Cold NW wind but crystal clear and sunny. Very exciting plummet next steeply down off escarpment to next checkpoint at crag bottom. Then slanting climb to Gospel Pass and many points east and south on 5 hour day 2 of Medium Score with Darren.Chris Pearson28/10/2018
Solo. Parked at carpark near summit of Gospel Pass. Ascended on good path to summit of Twmpa. Continued on path to Rhos Dirion. Highest point is SE of trig point. Followed gravel path which goes SW from trig point for somewhat over 1km. Continued on path to Waun Fach. Highest point is NE of trig point base. Returned same way. Misty from time to time. Included in day's circular walk. Parked at Capel y Ffin, walked to Vision Farm, ascent steep east to reach Offa's Dyke Path and followed it north over Mynydd Du to Hay Bluff summit. Left Offa's Dyke path, turned west and crossed Bwlch yr Efengyl to bag Twmpa, onwards to Rhos Dirion, then 4 mile leisurely hike southwards along ridge to Chwarel y Fan, then descend to Capel y Ffin. Lovely area, much to see, and interesting people when you meet them. Chwarel y Fan was my last mountain of the 100 highest in Wales.Dewi Prysor14/05/2017

3rd hill of four today on a circular walk from Hay-on-Wye, climbing Monks Well Hill, Paddocks hill and after an intricate section of map reading where i took paths across to minor road leading to Bridleway that took me to the foot of the mountain i Just climbed up direct, steeply and 20 minutes later was on the summit with amazing views across to Ros Dirion with crepuscular rays in the distance into the heart of the Brecon Beacons and Hay Bluff across the other way with a great view North with the land lit up. Carried on to path that descends to mountain road and up to Hay Bluff.Dazingdale18/10/2016
