Within Sennybridge firing range (MoD). Do not approach when red flags are flying. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/sennybridge-firing-notice for firing times.webmasterblank
The red flags are permanently flying, so check the gov.uk website for non-firing days. A quick walk up the military track from the parking area to the north. With Jill.Dangerous Dave03/02/2024

Ascent in thick cloud from the viewpoint on B4519 to the fenced off summit. Red flags flying but we walked an hour after the firing times were finished, no sign of activity on the range.Cumbriancyclist20/10/2023
Climbed after advertised end of firing for the day. Flags still flying.JGC18/09/2023
Walked up from Llangammarch Wells, after the military activities were done for the day.IanHHill11/09/2023

MOD website said firing finished at 4.30pm but red flags still up at 6pm but nobody around or in the box near the viewpoint parking. Quick 10 minute out and back bag along the track. Hp roped off with signs to presumably stop soldiers digging their latrines in the reedy top. Good views from the view point. With Gillianrichard6909/08/2023

Parked at viewpoint, walked 5 mins to near top, summit fenced offTribal2er16/04/2023
Erm, can't get exactly to the top as it's marked off by MOD but got close enoughthefunkylibrarian08/04/2023
On a non firing day, although some red flags were flying but not all. From the view point car park after having done The Warren and Pen cae’r mynah. Easily along track and up to HP in roped off area with long grass. Down to MOD road and over to Pen Tri Chrugiau.PeterD19/02/2023
Checked not firing on website. As others commented still some red flags up but no-one about. Short bag from parking area. Ascertained sign and rope around highest point is a no digging sign for the soldiers, of the ancient site. Spade in picture is very small, took us a while to work out what it was, so went under rope and climbed to highest point. Round trip 0.5 miles. Weather awful otherwise may have done a longer walk over plateau.JulieB03/01/2023
A quick dash up Mynydd Eppynt and The Warren from the convenient parking area at the highest point of the road. The red flags were still flying, but according to the government website firing had finished half an hour before, so I felt safe - mostly!Mark Jackson28/10/2022
Quick up and down, late sunday afternoon. Conflicting flags flying/not flying. No soldiers in guard boxes to consultNick Canute09/10/2022

I checked that it was a non-firing day. Despite being a non-firing day the Red flags were flying. I think nowadays the flags just indicate it is a military range and they don't take them down on non-firing days. When there I also asked a solder if it was OK. It was. Even so, I was nervous going past all the signsAlan Moore24/07/2021
From the usual parking area. No fire day, but red flags flying so double checked with guard house. Headed over to summit area which is cordoned off with a single wire fence. Easy to go under it although a little unnerving wandering over to summit area/pillar.Jephcote8313/06/2021
park viewing area checked mod website said no firing but red flags flying other walkers on hill 5 min to marker stone which has wire surrounding with what look like 'no dig signs'underhill27/03/2021

The first of an Epynt Eight session. Made use of the Christmas shut down of SENTA. No red flags flying so I MB'd straight up the old tarmac track to within the sight of the summit. Thick mist all day.Rob Rees27/12/2019
4/4: In thick mist just before sunset. Drove to Brum to visit Tom & Helen after. Rounsfell27/12/2019

Short run from viewpoint but caught by young artillery sergeant checking area before firing. Understanding my objective and being informed I was firing here when England won the World Cup in 1966 he let me continue quickly to top but unable to find stone.lordtonult18/02/2019

The last non-firing day of the Christmas & New Year break according to the published schedule. A simple walk from viewpoint like most others and the concrete marker easy to find in the small fenced off area. All quiet but all rather unsatisfying too.milimana06/01/2019
From SN 963467. Track to summit is on military firing range and the red flag cannot be seen from the starting point.Isbjorn12/11/2018

From viewpoint up road. Came from south and thought I was off range until I got to fenced off area at summit. Red flag round corner out of site!SS16/08/2018
Parked at viewpoint, up left hand military road. Army phone lines don't seem to work but firing times posted on gov.uk site for this range. High cloud, drizzle but good long distance views.iangalbraith20/07/2018
