Circular route from parking area at Langleeford: Hedgehope Hill, Comb Fell, Cairn Hill, Cairn Hill West Top, The Cheviot, then back to Langleeford via Scald Hill. Super sunny day with dry conditions which made easier work of areas of blanket bog on Hedgehope Hill & Comb Fell. I met a basking viper just above parking area on my return to Langleeford!Cas-gwent18/07/2017
Reached while walking the Northern Crossway direction was over Dunmoor hill and onto Hedgehope.WAYNE ROWLETT27/06/2017
Cheviot horseshoe anticlockwise, including a quick detour to Auchope Cairn. Steep on the way down, I get the impression the opposite direction could have been a lot more challenging!the_adam24/06/2017
Reached as part of the Hedgehope Winter Wipeout Race with Lorna. Freezing with ice on the top. Access was easy and good going.Lykewake4222/01/2017

Set off from Harthope Valley at 4pm and made the summit a little after 6pm. Going was tough in the sun (23C) but worse was to come. Hillside was alive with flying ants that swarmed all over me, arms, legs, face everytime I tried to stop to take in water. Made for a hell of an ascent. Nice views at the top though.Nymeria23/08/2016

Nuttall's 8.1 walk from Langleeford (in reverse). Big car park to east of farm. Good paths to summit, which can't be said for the whole horseshoe! Our first hill in the Cheviots. Didn't meet a soul since leaving car park until we got to Cairn Hill.Hillsidenick26/05/2014

Second day of a 3 day wildcamping trip from Wooler to Hownam. Walked up from my first camp on Long Crags and had breakfast on the summit. Fantastic views, especially southwards but I couldn't help but feel that The Cheviot dominated it slightly.Jake99409/08/2012

Walked from Langleeford in horseshoe to the Cheviot, Cairn Hill, Comb Fell and Hedgehope Hill. Parked in wrong location which made walk 1.5 hours longer then got lost on original route and walked straight up the side of the Cheviot.astokes01/05/2011
From the parking just before Langleeford. Followed the walk in the Nuttall book and came via the Cheviot and Comb Fell. Between the Cheviot and Comb Fell is pretty boggy so would be tough if it's been wet.jimclinch27/03/2011
