An unexpected large dump of snow made for slow going. From Skiddaw House hostel.Crumblie202/03/2024

Continued along the track after descending Bakestall, heading up Great Calva just as the track crosses a burn and drops towards Skiddaw House. Track (under the snow I think!) along the E side of the burn, then up through the heather to the summit. (Very useful shelter cairn S of the summit for lunch). Descended over Little Calva, and eventually down by a fence to rejoin the main track at approx NY273313. Beautiful day, but hard work higher up in the snow.LizH17/01/2024

Gale Road CP > Lonscale Pike > Lonscale Fell > Burnt Horse > Skiddaw House > Great Calva > Skiddaw House > Cumbria Way > Gale Road CP. Solo Walk, beautiful blue sky day with a moderate wind at height. Got lost in the heather for a bit on the way up Great Calva because I'm an idiot. Otherwise a fantastic day.johnkaysleftleg18/04/2023

Lots of heavy rain sleet encountered on the trudge over here from Skiddaw though it did ease off pleasantly, albeit very cold, by the time I made it over here.Alex C01/01/2023
