With Dad and Peter. With a wonderful name like this as a starting point for Dad's shortcut back to the car in Longlands what could go wrong? Setting off down the northern, steep slope to save time was dull but the billberries were very good. Remarkable purple stripes on my trousers proved I may have slid down the hill a bit! Descend to Little Cockup folks - it's much betterM0YDH19/08/2022

5.7 mile walk from Orthwaite farm (honesty box for parking there). Followed road then track past Brockle Crag and found a handy trail that heads straight up the ridge just to the west of Great Cockup summit. From there bagged Great Cockup then descended steeply to Trusmadoor then fairly steep pull up to Meal Fell summit. Descended same way then followed sheep trod path above Burntod Gill back to footpath and back down to farm. 460m ascent overall. Perfect walking weather sunny/high cloud with a light breeze. These were the last hills of the day. Earlier bagged High Pike, Carrock Fell and Faulds Brow. A few people about. Good views of Scotland.DanTrig17/06/2021
