Last of a 5 Wainwright round from Longlands, very appropriately on European Elections Day, inappropriately held the day after we should have left European Union. Great Cockup indeed!!! Didn't cock-up the summit as I trod on all the likely tops, not just the shelter.signyred23/05/2019
Walked along paths and minor road to where path starts near Orthwaite. Found a path leading to top. Almost made a Great Cockup when I thought first cairn was top. After checking walked the couple of hundred yards to actual top.Buteobuteo11/05/2019

Over Water > Orthwaite Bank > Great Cockup > Little Cockup > Castle How. Had intended to walk on to Great Sca Fell and surrounding Wainwrights, but we were beaten back by 50 mph winds that blew us over at the summit.Lazylizzie20/11/2018
Over Water > Orthwaite Bank > Little Cockup > Great Cockup > Trusamadoor > Meal Fell > Great Scafell > Little Scafell > Brae Fell > Lowethwaite Fell > Longlands Fell > Over Water. Only dry part of the Lakes, over cast with the odd burst of sunshine. Just Me and H.johnkaysleftleg04/11/2018
Walked in from Longlands on a very windy day 06/04/2018 but had to crawl the last few yards to the summit cairn on account of the wind. Later realised that I had missed the true summit so returned whilst on a circular walk from Longlands.JohnW02/10/2018

Walk from Longlands up Great Cockup, Meal Fell, Great Sca Fell and Knott, returning via Braefell. Walking in low cloud most of the time and no views or photo opportunities. However although there was still snow on the ground the going underfooot was mostly pretty good. Light rain and wind from time to time and managed to get to the pub in Caldbeck before the forecasted heavy rain arrivedPhilip A03/04/2018

From Frozen Fell. Came over the west top earlier then continued to White Hause thinking I'd hit the summit. Yes, I know. Realised my mistake and toiled up for a second time. Very pleasant weather now, after clouding over for a bit and Trusmadoor a lovely spot. Chatted to a man taking a leisurely stroll around the area with an expensive looking camera and continued to Meal Fell.Wycombe Wanderer02/09/2017

Great Cockup lived up to its name as we were meant to do Meal fell first. ended up on frozen fell and had to make our way down into the middle of the 2. from here went up the short steep incline to the true summit.Scotty 2 Hotty05/08/2017
