Esk Pike, Bowfell and Crinkle Crags from Cockley Beck Bridge. First ascent of Esk Pike from the upper Duddon Valley for me and the desolate but romantic head of Eskdale - splendid scenery. The route visited many not previously climbed Birketts and Synges. 20 summits topped during the day, order of ascent: Painet Knott, Throstlehow Crag, Scar Lathing, High Gait Crags, Yeatyrigg Crags, Pike de Bield, Esk Pike, Bowfell North Top, Bowfell, Shelter Crags N Top, Shelter Crags, Gunson Knott, 4th Crinkle, 3rd Crinkle, Crinkle Crags, Crinkle Crags South Top, Great Knott, Cold Pike Far West Top, Cold Pike West Top, Cold Pike. 23km with 1400m of ascent, taking 8h 40m. | silverwolf_alan | 20/09/2022 |

Take the bridleway S over Stockley Bridge and turn S up the Grains Gill path to Lower Esk Hause and up to Allen Crags summit. Back to the Esk Hause cross shelter and continue up to Esk Hause proper and then SE to the summit of Esk Pike. Return to the hause and continue W up to Calf Cove and the summit of Great End. Return to Esk Hause and take the bridle way to Sprinkling Tarn and Sty Head. 
Back by the Styhead Gill bridleway.
