With mart, had problems finding the start from the Robinson Cairn: further and higher up the crag than I thought. Did as four climbing pitches but would be much easier a second time. Absolutely superb when the route is located!!John Eley01/08/2016

With Jo, walk from Bowness Point to the foothills of Pillar Rock. Being neither scrambling, climbing nor abseiling septuagenarians, this is as far as it goes regarding the completing of the Nuttall, Birkett and Synge lists; whilst congratulating the completers, we are happy to be in the second group of hillbaggers. Weather; sunny, warm, very good visibility.amblerbob21/09/2014

Revisit en route to White Pike, been meaning to go back for ages. Route quite a bit longer and more complex than I expected, but being 'only' a Mod rock climb there will always been plenty of holds if you look for them - and the route is pretty clear thanks to generations of climbers polishing the holds. V exposed though in places, and solo with no rope obviously essential to be 100% sure of the holds before making a move. Also a summer afternoon when the rock is absolutely dry would be better than a (sunny) autumn morning. My last unclimbed, Nuttall to complete my round of all 444 in England and Wales. Guided by Paul Winstanley of West Coast Guiding (07930 989641), we cycled from Bowness Knott up Ennerdale left bikes nr River Liza and ascended the path to the Shamrock Traverse. Ascended by Slab and Notch to summit. Descended by same route. Developed into a lovely warm clear summers day - perfect day to complete around of Nuttalls with Pillar Rock.andrew larkins19/06/2013

Then up onto Pillar Fell and back down over Looking Stead to Black Sail Pass and down. Started to rain on way down.Mark T07/07/2012
