Ascent from the Woolpack inn. Paired with Scafell. In Mist throughout and difficult navigation between the two peaks. But as only a few away from completing we soldiered on.jpitches27/08/2018
Headed up from Eskdale alomg the river Esk to Cam Spout then headed up Little Narrow Cove to Scafell Pike. Headed over Mickledore to ascend Sca Fell via Lords Rake and deep gully. Fantastic wee scramble. We ascended towards Slight Side and then returned to Eskdale. At this point the path disappeared and wasnt easy to find in the low cloud. We ascended right behind the Woolpack Inn. Great big hike, wil a few boggy areas and would have been more enjoyable with views.Zoe Little18/08/2018

Slight Side today. Wainwright 15. We had bags of energy to go on to Scafell, but visibility was just too bad to consider it. Down to 10 metres at times. I lost sight of DW 3 times on the way up. It was a bit worrying and we were disappointed we couldn't get our double goal . it took 20 minutes of scrambling up Tors in the fog to find the high point on Slight Side. So disoriented was I by then that I would have spent the same time or more looking for the way back down without the aid of memory girl my DW. Even then, nothing was familiar to show us we were heading the right way as our world and view had been so limited on the way up. Every walk we learn something... The cloud did lift off the top by 3.30, but we were back at the car by that time. Another time then!nukeboy104/05/2018

Start ~ Brackenclose Car Park. Took a little used route up Hollow Gill on to Green How, a path appears around 600m if you can find it. It takes you straight to the top of Scafell but is somewhat gruelling! Detoured to Symonds Knott before descending south to Slight Side. Continued down before swinging West down Brown Tongue to the Burnmoor Tarn Track to return.steve hudson21/07/2016
