Scafell and Slight Side from Wha House Farm. Again misty, but a brief glimpse of a view from Scafell's summit. The rocks are very slippery after the many months of rain - care required. 14km with 1050m ascent, taking me 6 hours, there and back. | silverwolf_alan | 19/02/2024 |

Decent was a bit dodgy coming off Long Green but lovely walk back past the waterfalls. Stayed at Shepherds Hut overnight near Scales. | River-Girl | 05/07/2023 |

Stayed at Eskdale YH the night before, the staff allowed me to keep my car there on 26th, while I did the hike.
Walked along the road to Wha House and followed the well defined path between the Crags and up to Slight Side, then onto Sca Fell. Great views in all directions, sunny until half way down when I brief shower caught me.
Returned via the same route, as on the ascent I visited the wrong (lower) north summit, so on the descent I visited the southern summit, which now looks lower....06:20hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 26/09/2022 |

The ascent of Scafell from Wha House, via Slight Side, Symonds Knott, returning via Slight Side, Great How and Boat How to Boot. A wonderful November day in the Lakes, with a mixture of vivid blue sky and mist drifting around the hills. Even a sighting a splendid Brocken Spectre from Symonds Knott. 21km with 1200m ascent in 7h30m. (S) | silveracorn_alan | 13/11/2021 |

Weather - Low cloud, poor visibility ... Route: circular from Wha house farm - slight side - Scafell- Burnmoor Tarn - Boot... Lost our way for a while here in the clouds by going to far to the right of Slight Side, but reorientate ourselves with the help of map, compass and GPS and found the right way up onto the ridge. | R & K | 06/09/2021 |

From Scafell we descended the easy route to Slight side standing on both summits as the both looked similar in height. From there we made our way down passing the WW2 plane crash side of 2 young Polish pilots. We soon got to Hardrigg gill which was absolutely stunning. Natures slides and plunge pools. Definitely will be back for a wild camp there. We then headed down back to the car stopping at the Screes inn in nether wasdale for a pint of Ermmm then the long drive home to drink IPA, Champagne and watch Vikings. 213 down 1 to go for me. | Scotty 2 Hotty | 02/06/2021 |
Wha house farm CP > Goat Crag > Slight Side > Scafell >Great How > Whinscales > Dawsonground Crags > Wha house farm CP. Solo walk. Stunning day once again with great views and lots of sunshine. Lost the will so left Whin Crag unbagged for the day. | johnkaysleftleg | 18/05/2021 |

Lightweight circular expedition from Wasdale head. Lingmell (avoiding the hikers path to the Col on the Scafell Pike route, as it was very busy!). Dropped down to the col and up to Scafell Pike where I didn't hang around due to the sheer numbers up there. Dropped down to Mickledore dropping down to the track/gully leading up to Foxes Tarn. Decided to camp near down below the bottom of the gully on one of the flattish spots next to the stream. Following a nice night camped departed straight up the gully, short scramble up to Foxes Tarn, then onto the top of Scafell . Dropped down to bag Slight Side via Long Green. Contouring back to Wasdale Head joining the downward track at Rakehead Crag. Very hot and dry throughout. Boulder fields and scree slowed progress at times! | Butty | 09/08/2020 |

Wha House - Cowcove zigzags - Silverybield - Cam Spout - Foxes Tarn - Scafell - Slight Side - Great How - Catcove Beck - Wha House. | Mark Jackson | 24/07/2020 |
Solo fr Eskdale, past Cam Spout Crag and up to Mickledore. Well-broken cloud, nice views, big crowd on the Pike! Lord's Rake to Sca Fell and down here quite pleasantly. But then wetter and rougher on long hot descent back to Eskdale, where the car park was scorching. Returned to unsatisfactory Kellbank Hotel (no food or attendance due to Covid, but no fridge either). | NorfolkPT21 | 12/07/2020 |
