Last one of the day for Jonny Connie & I before the somewhat steep and slippery descent to have a very brief dip in the freezing waters of Bleaberry Tarn. Matters weren't enhanced by the fact that not really being able to see a few feet in front of you we set off down the wrong path to Crummock Water and then had to reascend to find the right path.Alphaville19911/02/2024

The High Stile Ridge, east to west from Buttermere. Visited Haystacks, Seat, High Crag, High Stile, Red Pike (Buttermere), Little Dodd, Starling Dodd, Great Borne, and back by Scale Force. A windy day on the tops, but after initial rain, it brightened up to sunny intervals. The Buttermere valley looked wonderful in the afternoon sun. 25km with1700m ascent taking 9 hours.silverwolf_alan20/08/2023

Red Pike as part of my second round of Wainwrights. Buttermere circuit with Lindsey, Viv and Tony. Steeply up through Burtness Wood to Bleaberry Tarn then on up to Red Pike. Followed the undulating ridge to High Stile, High Crag and Seat. Descended via Scarth Gap to the Buttermere shore path. Total distance was 7.6 miles and total ascent 2,875 feet.Skip213/10/2022

From Buttermere. 14.5 km, 870 m asc. Along Buttermere Dubs and up and around to Scale Force. Cut up the heather slopes to Lingcomb Edge and up to the summit of Red Pike. Continue along the ridge to High Stile and High Stile - Grey Crag summits and continuing to High Crag summit. Descend Gamlin End and then down the broken wall from Marble Stone to join the Scarth Gap Pass path. Back along the Buttermere S shore and Burtness Wood.
