On to Codale Head and Sergeant Man summits and back S to Low White Stones. Down to Greenup Edge and Lining Crag and back by Greenup Gill. Popped up to Easedale Tarnwith Rick and Jen so Jen could do her bird watch thing, Brian came along and Brian, me and Rick went up to the ridge and played about with the tops at Castle How and back to Blea Rigg for fodder. Rick left us for home duties and me and Brian bumbled along to Sergeant Man, Codale Head and down through Tarn Crags. Down to Sour Milk Gill and back to Lankrigg where we had parked. Mist and mizzle all day but did pop out of it on Sergeant Man, wet day out but a great post birthday walk. 3 more Wainwrights and a few Birketts too.Mark T17/01/2017

5th top of 13 today on the third leg of my improvised Bob Graham's round from Burtharlyp Howe youth hostel, climbing Burtharlyp Howe, Helm Crag, Gibson Knott and Calf Crag, climbing into more dramatic scenery but boggier. It has started to rain but i didnt react quickly enough snd by the the time i arrived at this summit it was raining heavily with just a thin kagoul gor protection. Very wet underfoot, feet sodden and cold nearly the whole way (bit of a thaw of recent snow; microspikes still invaluable on icy snow patches up to Sgt Man area, though they 'balled up' a bit w thawing snow).
