6th hill of 12 on a 29.3km circuit from Greendale Cottage, continuing from Little Gowder Crag, fairly easily walking and East side of wall provided some protection from the wind. Quite liked this one. Continuing to Iron Crag...Dazingdale17/03/2024

After an horrendous nights wind and rain (forecasted and the reason I went for the YHA rather than wild camping!) I started out with a loop of Caw Fell and Pillar (via Haycock and Scoat Fell, both previously bagged). Ascended via footbridges up to Silver Cove picking up the mapped Cains in the thick mist. Once one top I had to search for the summit cairn in the low vis' and strong winds. Once found, I took shelter from the SW behind the wall, where I had lunch. Started out toward Haycock but the wind was too strong and blustery despite coming in from behind, I decided that there was no way I'd make Wind Gap at Pillar so aborted, descending the via the same route up. Returned to Bowness Point to collect the car.Butty02/08/2022

Up to Scoat Fell summit then W over Middle Scoat Fell and Great Scoat Fell (Sy) tops and along the Ennerdale Fence to Haycock and Caw Fell summits. Back down the N ridge to the footbridge over Silvercove Beck and back by the valley track. Warm, breezy and misty on the tops. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720301005546SalmonJoe01/08/2022
