10.5 mile linear walk starting in Langdale, climbing steeply up Mark Gate path around Loft Crag and scrambled onto Pike of Stickle, went back along and ascended Loft Crag, back down and across to Harrison Stickle, then around to Pavey Ark wainwright, then across to Thunacar Knott, then contoured around to Sergeant Man Wainwright then easy ascent to High Raise, descended and took path onto Calf Crag then along smaller path to Steel Fell finishing up at Steel End car park. Glorious day, sun with thin layer of cloud way above most summits so no direct sunlight, busy as usual, great views.DanTrig23/06/2018

We made our way across to Loft Crag or so we thought…we went to what looked like the obvious peak we took our pictures and moved on. On the way to Harrison Stickle whilst looking at the GPS I wasn’t convinced we’d been on the summit and made our way to the cairn on the edge under HS just to be sure. A decision Bec nearly had a breakdown over as we were about 9 hours in at the point. If nothing else it was a great view point and we had covered all bases. A short walk from POS along a ridge brings you to Loft Crag which whilst it doesn't have quite the height or ruggedness of its nearest neighbours from this approach is nevertheless well worth it for the views that it offers back down to the valley. New Dungeon Ghyll, Loft Crag, Pike of Stickle, Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark, Stickle Tarn and back to start. A wet and windy day. Any hopes of doing more were firmly squashed by a combination of the weather and a twisted ankle in the first ten minutes, which got steadily worse as the day went on. Fantastic scramble up Dungeon Ghyll - Thorn Crag then dropped 500 feet to scramble up Loft Crag -losing guidebook recommended line, but not a problem. Superb views of nearby climbers on Gimmer Crag. Then leisurely wander in hot sun with lots of long sit downs to take it all in -to Pike O' Stickle - Thunacar Knott- Pavey Ark - Harrison Stickle. Descent by the famous P o'S scree run - felt committing -bare in upper part but superb lower down -cloud of dust. Pint of Old peculiar in ODG.Chris Pearson26/04/1984

I love this little, rocky ridge between Loft Crag and Pike o'Stickle. The rock scenery and shapeliness of the two peaks at close quarters is amongst my favourite in Lakeland. Today's walk was on a round of peaks above Langdale but a direct ascent, using climbers' paths and getting close to Gimmer Crag, gives a really satisfying ascent with a bit of easy scrambling (its on pg. 5 of AW's guide chp.)pwheeler07/03/1976
