Heading up to my event on Scafell Pike from dungeon Ghyll up the Langdale valley to Angle Tarn, Allen Crags, Esk Hause, Great End, Broad Crag, Scafell Pike then down Via Rossett pike and stake pass back down the valley then upto Blea tarn and Side Pike covering 19 miles.AvidSockWearer28/04/2019
Climbed up Mickleden Beck to Angle Tarn, then the summit of Allen Crags (784m), Great End (910m), Scarfell Pike (978m) for the 'On Top of....' event and then back down via Rossett Pike (651m) and Stake Pass. From Millbeck Farm where I stayed, along the road past ODG, up the Band to Bowfell, Bowfell N. Top, across to Pike de Bield and Yeastyrigg Crags before Esk Pike. Then NW, NE and SE to Tongue Head and continued to Rossett Pike, Buck Pike and Black Crags. Nice early start at Tarn at Leaves. Chose a contoury route to skirt Rosthwaite Fell and Glaramara to Allen Crags. After a break at Esk Hause in the Shelter before going up to Great End. Hunted around for the cairn which wasn't at the highest point. Great views around in and out of the mist. Dropped back down via the col to Esk Hause, up to Esk Pike dropping off down to Angle Tarn. 12.4 mile walk 7 fells in very changeable weather. We walked from car park at end of Langdale, climbed The Band up onto Bowfell, had brief glimpses of the view when cloud cleared, along lovely path to Esk Pike in full sun, down to Esk Hause and back up and along to Ill Crag (Weather closing in again), climbed Broad Crag in full cloud, back along to Great End in sun, back down to Esk Hause and up to Allen Crags (full thick cloud), then followed path down as cloud completely cleared, passed lovely Angle Tarn in full sun and bagged Rossett Pike, then back down to Langdale.DanTrig17/06/2017
