With Jim, Jus and Cat. Round of Black Crags, Buck Pike, Rossett Pike, Tongue Head, Esk Pike, Bowfell North Top and Bowfell from Old Dungeon Ghyll. Rossett Pike seemed a slightly dull peak that caught the wind more than any other summit today, so didn't stay here long. Thought the views were better from the neighbouring Buck Pike anyway.wheresthepath01/10/2023

Spent the night in the unicorn in Ambleside and made our way to Langdale after our quick Tesco stop. Parked up at the national trust and made our way round and through Milkleden. At the end of the valley we decided to take the less steep way of Stakes pass and across Buck Pike to the summit of Rossett Pike. Was cold and much harder than either of us expected and felt sore for a few days after. The day after the weather turned and with Bec wanting to go see Adele we cancelled the keswick night for another day so we headed home for a few wainwrights in the dog and partridge and chinese.Scotty 2 Hotty03/01/2020

The path dropped to Angle Tarn followed by a somewhat dispiriting re-ascent to Rossett Pike, but after a banana break I was soon on the very windy summit, which I had to myself. Walkers were by-passing it although it was only a ten-minute detour from the path. Both Wainwright and the Nuttalls warn that Rossett Gill is not easy; however, I had found the path from Red Pike to Dore Head, and that from Mickledore to Foxes Tarn, much more of a trial. I took it slowly as I always do, but it was generally firm. The level path by Mickleden Beck seemed not to be getting any closer, but the sight of the Langdale Pikes ahead and the crags of Bowfell to the right were inspiring, and finally I crossed the stream and had my final break. There was a two-mile walk back to the carpeter4lc09/07/2014

Tough walk, today, up Oxendale to Crinkle Crags, along to Bowfell, then Esk Pike and Rossett Pike. Then, down Rossett Gill and the long drag back via Mickelden to the Old Dungeon Ghyll. I was tired to begin with, so the first few hours were really hard, but then I seemed to get some energy from somewhere and I finished well. We were a bit unsure of our location on Esk Pike, so dad got out the map and compass and it all became very clear. Maybe we should do this every time? Eh dad???Connor19/05/2014

A tough hot day walking across the mountains form Langdale to Honister YH with a full pack to a YHS w/e. Up Stakes Pass and under Black Crag on good path to summit. Two tornado jest flew through the col level with me, seemingly just 'feet away' I got a blurry photo of half of one- which does look very close!Chris Pearson27/04/1984

With Keith, from Esk PikeAlan Moore09/04/1977
After a field course at Brathay, I decided to walk over to Buttermere. The first day I caught the bus to the ODG and walked to Angle Tarn via Stake Gill as The Rosset Gill paths were hatefully eroded in the early 70s. I took the opportunity to go to this summit- marvellous view down Langdale. Overnight at Black Sail YH.pwheeler29/06/1974
