Lucy's 2nd lake district peak Great views fantastic area to visit Intended to do the buttermere ridge but turned back 50ft from red pike summit due to weatherLauralj8405/06/2020
From Gatesgarth via Seat, High Crag, High Stile and Red Pike - unbelievable weather (in a good sense). The descent to Buttermere seemed so much longer than the ascent from it. Plus ice on the stones made it fairly treacherous. Nevertheless the day was one of my best in the lakes.garyhoney31/12/2019
Drizzly at first but warm. Ascent through birch wood from shore of Crummock Water. Took 3 hours but rewarded with great all-round views.Peak Rambler09/09/2019

From Gatesgarth. Haystacks, Seat, High Crag, High Stile x 2, Red Pike and Dodd. Horrible descent from Red Pike. cclivevilla23/09/2017
Up from Buttermere village via Easdale Tarn on Wainwrights Red Pike route with a right turn just before the hause. Easy route to follow in poor visibility, which is what we had today despite better forecast. Decided against continuing on to Red Pike and High Crag ridge due to low probability of views, so back down same route for tea and cakes at Sykes Farm Tearoom instead.Hillsidenick27/08/2017

Attempted to summit Red Pike, but sacked it off as a bad idea as it started snowing and we had a bit of a white-out situation... Oops.. We made it as far as Dodd tho and would of had some marvellous views if it wasn't for all the snow...DAB8101/03/2017

7th top of the day on the 6th and final leg of my alternative Bob Graham's round, starting from the Black Sail youth hostel. I climbed Haystacks, Seat, High Crag, High stile (summit & Wainwright) and from Red pike i scrambled/slid down the steep scree till i was able to climb up the path to the top. Great perspective on the tarn below. Re-traced steps to the col below and then took path past the tarn that neabders down through the forest (eventually) to Buttermere.Dazingdale11/06/2016
