The High Stile Ridge, east to west from Buttermere. Visited Haystacks, Seat, High Crag, High Stile, Red Pike (Buttermere), Little Dodd, Starling Dodd, Great Borne, and back by Scale Force. A windy day on the tops, but after initial rain, it brightened up to sunny intervals. The Buttermere valley looked wonderful in the afternoon sun. 25km with1700m ascent taking 9 hours.silverwolf_alan20/08/2023

Wainwright's 202 & 203 from Bowness Point to Ennerdale YHA via the tops. Took a pretty vertical route up Rake Beck (which according to a local I met a few days later, he said he'd not seen so much water flowing down it for years!). Quite breezy on top and I could see the forecasted heavy rain coming in from the west. Decided not to revisit Red Pike (the best view in the Lakes imo) as the wind was picking up and I want to get down to the YHA before the heavy rain hit, which I did, just!Butty01/08/2022

From FC CP at NY 109153 (toilets removed years ago). Open Access land meets the road at NY109159, stile, true L bank of Rake Beck, then outside of intake walls to FP which first trends N, then up W ridge of Herdus all at an unrelenting angle. Great Borne, Starling Dodd, Little Dodd, then TR E to FP descending from Red Pike. Into forest, W, on track, to NY135150 where unmapped FPs follow N side of Smithy Beck and back to FC CP. Umpteenth+1 ascent.Isbjorn09/02/2022
FC CP at NY 109153 (Toilets removed long ago). Umpteenth ascents of these - Smithy Beck Trail, E, to unmapped forest road, then along it WNW to quarry and thin FP up to Bowness Knott, good thin path NNE, then a bit of a heather bash to old, now overgrown ride and over new fence to Brown How. Then steeply up true L bank of Rake Beck, (an FP not for the faint-hearted), to Great Borne, on to Starling Dodd, Little Dodd, and a TR SE to join FP descending from Red Pike (horrible rocky ground if descend before TR), back to FC CP.Isbjorn04/02/2022
From Bowness CP, Ennerdale. 12.5 km, 770 m asc. Along the Ennerdale shore track to High Gillerthwaite, up the Red Pike path to 540m then contour NW to Little Dodd. Continue over Starling Dodd, Great Bourne and Herdus. Descend by Herdus W ridge and the road.SalmonJoe16/01/2022
