Tricky navigation at times doing this round anti clockwise, until dropping down out the mist just before Gibson Knott and wonderful views opening up. Climbed to top of Howitzer, something WW himself never did; although just a hand on the summit had to suffice, because im not completely reckless..Alfa1M27/03/2024

From High Raise via Greenup Edge.CJM24/01/2001
This summit (about 4 visits) and the walk from it to Steel fell are the least good parts of the Greenburn Horseshoe; soggy rather than rocky fells, but it is still worthwhile, the Horseshoe is a wonderful walk, a candidate for the best mountain walk in Britain without going above 2000 ftpwheeler05/04/2000

TC, EC. Weather fine. From Grasmere via Far Easdale. First peak on a delightful ridge walk. Met a couple from America on top. They had a tiny map, no walking boots and were asking if they had reached High Raise yet! They were well short of that and had no idea where they were.TopCat195924/10/1994
