From Rosthwaite - Grange fell - Great Crag - Ullscarf - Sergeant Crag - Eagle Crag. 19km 5h 30. The usual winter combination of sodden lower levels then frozen about 600m. Lovely light, back in the darkRockdoctor14/01/2024

A circular route over boggy ground starting at Rosthwaite. Along the valley track past the Stonethwaite, up Greenup Gill, before branching off to the right for Eagle Crag. Then along the ridge to Sergeant's Crag and up the small track to the right of Long Crag, then traversing above it to Greenup Edge. North along the Central Fells ridge over Ullscarf, and down by Standing Crag. Then across very boggy ground (wet feet) parallel to the fence over Watendlath Fell to Shivery Knott. Then a beeline for Armboth Fell, visiting both the Wainwright and Birkett tops. Then up another marshy track over High Tove, and back to Rosthwaite via Watendlath. 22km with 1000m ascent in 7h 40m.silverwolf_alan26/08/2023

Glaramara via Cam Crag, Allen Crags, Rossett Pike then a steadily rising traverse under High Raise across to Sergeant's Crag & Eagle Crag. Eagle Crag N descent path becomes fainter (and splits off, I gather) after the cairn. I kept following what looked like the main path and took a line directly off the nose, with a steep buttress directly on my left. The path dropped off into narrow ledges of mixed grass & rock, with a lot of heather and other vegetation, overloking a steep drop. I pondered returning and finding another route, but decided I was safe enough where I was, and the next step was reasonably attainable, so carried on like that. Taken a step at a time it was straightforward enough but felt very hairy and exposed, given I'd not come up it before. Impressive crag to look back up at. Upon review, I think I might have been meant to head right before the ledges and find a gully/scramble instead, leading to the path I met at the foot of Heron Crag, above Bleak How.Barns15027/05/2023

On to Codale Head and Sergeant Man summits and back S to Low White Stones. Down to Greenup Edge and Lining Crag and back by Greenup Gill. Dry, sunny, the first day of Spring. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720307195757SalmonJoe02/04/2023
Climbed with Pete (after we had separated). Early start (06.30am leaving home). Parked in Stonethwaite. Walked up the beck (Greenup Gill) to get parallel to Sergeants Crag and crossed the beck. Reached Sergeants Crag and then headed north to Eagle Crag. Ground conditions was snow and thick ice therefore instead of going down nose of Eagle Crag we retraced our route to the original river crossing and followed Greenup Gill back to the car.River-Girl21/01/2023

With John from Rosthwaite - despite the fact it was a magnificently sunny Easter Sunday, we only saw four other walkers on this hill (and three of them were lost). Decent mini-scramble once the path runs out, and brilliant views back over the valley.Richard17/04/2022

Parked by phone box in Stonethwaite, took wrong track past campsite rather than crossing river at village, climbed to morraines then cut up by Poutney crag. There is a Stile very close to summit. Headed for Sergeant's Crag. Windy, good visibility. On my ownalwaysinshorts11/02/2022

Another two peaks for my 3rd Round Wainwrights: Sergeant's Crag and Eagle Crag for today. Rain and gale force winds made this a challenging walk. Soaked again! 11km with 900m ascent in 4 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan26/10/2021
Solo from Rosthwaite using Wainwright’s B route. Sergeant’s Crag then Eagle Crag. To get across the wall, there’s a ladder stile just S of the wall corner (NY 27557 12017). Took me just shy of 4hrs.ADT01/09/2021

2nd attempt after missing the bridge a few weeks earlier. Setting off Early Monday morning and parking in Stonethwaite. This time making sure not to walk passed it. We followed Greenup Gill and crossed back onto Eagle Crag making our way through the tall very wet ferns to the foot of the slope. After a rest followed the steep dry stone wall to the 1st plateau. This 1st part nearly killed me, Covid amongst other things meaning I am completely out of shape however the fun was about to begin. Through the gully turn right onto a rake with is exposed and shows off the Langstrath Valley. It was amazing, scrambling exposed fun all the way to the top. best route of the year which isn’t saying much. Stopped at the top and ate my 2nd sandwich of the day looking down the Stunning Borrowdale Valley.Scotty 2 Hotty03/08/2020
