Parked at Maggies Bridge. Appears to be parking at the hotel. Round the west side of the hill, and up to the bealaich. Main top first.iangalbraith04/03/2024
Parked at Maggies Bridge. The round of Mellbreak North and South Tops, Hen Comb, Floutern Cop, Banna Fell E Top, Gavel Fell, Blake Fell and Burnbank Fell. Cloudy day with some sun but chilly NE wind. Some snow left on the top of Blake Fell from the weekend but surrounding higher hills looked impressive - across to Grasmoor and Red Pike/High Stile. Worth mentioning the good track not on the map heading off NE from Burnbank that curls N to meet up with the bw below and facilitate a more direct return to Maggies Bridge. Solorichard6903/03/2024
On first day of holiday, replacing Great gable due to low clouds. Parked near Kirkstone Inn, and up both tops with all the family.Ham and Skate31/10/2023
A round of the Loweswater Fells from Maggies Bridge, visiting Mellbreak (both tops), Scale Knott, Hen Comb, Floutern Cop, Banna Fell (E Top), Gavel Fell, Blake Fell, Carling Knott, and Burnbank Fell. A lovely autumn day, with the Buttermere area getting the best of the sunny weather, most of the Lakeland Fells were capped with mist. 23km with 1200m ascent taking me 8 hours.silverwolf_alan27/10/2023

From Loweswater village. 13.5 km, 700 m asc. Over Church Bridge and S along the Mosedale BW, crossing the beck under Thrang Crags and continuing towards Whiteoak Moss. Leave the BW and head N up to Hen Comb summit and return to the BW. Continue E to cross Black Beck and N up the ridge to Mellbreak (S summit). Drop N to the col and then steeply down W to rejoin the Mosedale BW back to Loweswater. Cold, windy, drizzle, boggy, horrible. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720304220755SalmonJoe04/12/2022

Walked up Mellbreak South Top then Hen Comb with Pete and Lizzie. Stayed at Lizzies overnight. Arghh -checked with Pete and he said only Mellbreak was a summit so we now have to go back and do Mellbreak North Top! :-(River-Girl16/10/2021

As per philip_firth. Great route but feels pretty sketchy at times to drop off Hen Comb, clamber up the slope of Mellbreak then fall off the north side but all made up for the fact you can finish in the pub. Hot and sunny and with trimarc2 & GFE. Burnbank Fell, Gavel Fell, Banna Fell, Floutern Crop, Hen Comb, Mellbreak (both tops) and finishing at Kirkstile InnFionalevey28/08/2021

From Hen Comb summit it is steep drop to Mosedale Beck and an equally steep climb the other side to the summit of Mellbreak. I opted to descent the very steep north path that ends in a a fairly treacherous scree. The reward was a short walk straight into the Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater village.philip_firth30/06/2021

After the steep ascent to the North Top the walk along the fell is a doddle by comparison.milimana29/04/2021
Feeling a little tired from the day before we got up at 5am and headed off stopping at Lancaster for a bacon butty at Greggs and fuel. After another stop at Rosthwaite (again) we finally got to our parking at Kirkstile inn. Bec was nervous about this one with the scree and scramble sections especially with a layer of ice over. It was very very steep and at the start hard work but very enjoyable and views to die for. The going got easier before making it to the top and the easy walk to the proper summit. On the way down the other side the views were some of the best I’ve ever seen of the lakes and surrounding fells. We took a small detour to the spectacular Scale force before following Crummock water back to the car. WHAT A WEEKEND.Scotty 2 Hotty11/04/2021

Parked at Santon Bridge and walked around the edge of Crummock Water to ascend via the north face. Lots of scree to scramble but good on top. Down the south face and back via the Mosedale Tree to the Kirkstile Inn for a fishfinger sandwich and a pint. An easy 5 hours stroll.Nick11/12/2020

Solo. From Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater, where I was staying. Along the old road/lane leading to Mosedale and then steeply up to Mellbreak North Top. Along to Mellbreak South Top (the highest point of Mellbreak), Scale Knott and back through Mosedale. A dry day with good views before rain came later, after I had finished.pwbellarby24/10/2019
