Standard route from small parking area ( more vehicles could get parked if ot was marked out). Never seen so many folks on a hill. Mobbed. A dry day after three ? Days of rain. A morning's walk from the caravan site at Manesty over Catbells, then down the ridge across Skellgill Bank to Hawes End and back along the shore of Derwentwater. 10km with 450m ascent taking 3 hours. A lovely dry and sunny window between bouts of heavy rain.silverwolf_alan02/11/2023

From Chapel Bridge, Little Town, Newlands. 15 km, 990 m asc. S along the Dale Head mine track to Goldscope Mines. Cross Newlands Beck and take the ridge path SW and S over Scope End, Red Knott and High Crags to the summit of Hindscarth. Continue by Hindscath Edge to Dale Head summit. E down to Dalehead Tarn and then N over High Spy and Maiden Moor and onto Catbells summit. Return S to Hause Gate and take the Yewthwaite Comb bridleway back to Little Town. The ascent of Catbells with the scouts from our scout camp at Ashness via High Lodore, the duck boards, along the west shore of Derwentwater to Hawse End, over Skelgill Bank to Catbells. Then down to Hause Gate and Manesty, back over the duck boards, Christopher Robin Bridge, to High Lodore and up to the camp site in the Watendlath valley. 13km with 680m ascent taking 6 hours.silverwolf_alan15/07/2022

Met up with Wainwright group(13 in total)and after taking ferry from Keswick pier to Hawse End began our ascent of Catbells. Perfect weather,sunny,breezy and clear blue skies.Enjoyed good rest after stiff climb to summit then descended into Newlands valley amidst flower-filled meadows.Gentler stroll back to Derwentwater and a well-earned icecream.Peak Rambler18/06/2022
