Up from Stonethwaite via Lingy End and Dock Tarn and then on to Watendlath Tarnjeffpl22/04/2023
From the car park at Watendlath on a grey windy day with a driving drizzle at times. Followed the RoW past Dock Tarn, then using sheep trods across to the super peak of High Crag. Dropped back down to the Dock Tarn track and contoured round the west side of Great Crag, before crossing to Knotts. Then up to Great Crag (Wainwright Round 4), visiting both cairns, because I can never remember which is the summit. Descended down to the Watendlath/Rosthwaite highway, and then a revisit to Brund Fell (Wainwright Round 4). Although we have camped just below at the Thwaite House field countless times with GSAL Scouts, I have never traversed the ridge north from Brund Fell before, so continued on to the impressive Ether Knot, Brown Dodd and a tricky descent to Watendlath Beck, crossing through our campsite and back to Watendlath along the road in the fading light. 13km with an impressive 800m ascent taking me 4h 40m.silverwolf_alan19/02/2023
