From the small parking area at the foot of the direct ascent of the west end of Rannerdale Knotts, along the ridge and then up the track to the top of Whiteless Pike, where the wind was still a gale and the mist was down. 2.8 mile out-and-back walk from car park north of Buttermere. Followed easy grassy trails up to and along great summit ridge. 299m ascent. Great views from such a small hill.
