From Wythop Mills road, near Church, via PFP and track. With SCM.IanHHill17/03/2024
Parked just beyond Brumstone Bridge to the SW. Late afternoon temperature falling fast, especially in the strong wind on the summit but still good views all round, especially looking E to snow covered Skiddaw. Solo.richard6904/03/2024

Parked between Sale and Ling Fell. Climbed Sale Fell directly then onto Ling Fell. Clear day but windy on the tops. With Ben and Sally.Victor12/02/2024
For a change, I parked on the road to the north, between the Victorian Sunday School and the start of the public footpath. Very busy today, presumably half term holiday has started. Pleasant walk on grassy paths. Solo. W24 Rnd7.Dangerous Dave12/02/2024
Short walk from road head parking above Wytham Mill. Walked along road to farm then up to the col. Easy walk - views from the top once the shroud lifted.kenmorti10/01/2024

lukily got one of the dozen or so parking places at Brunston Bridge. Lovely walk away from the busier areas.Hirta04/11/2023
My fifth round of the Lord's Seat Group from Whinlatter to Wythop Mill, this time with Chris. Visited Whinlatter Top, Whinlatter Brown How, Tarbarrel Moss, Ullister Hill, Barf, Lord's Seat, Broom Fell, Widow Hause, Graystones (both summits), Ling Fell, Rivings, and Sale Fell. 20km with 1030m ascent taking 7h20m. Lovely autumn colours and great views across the Solway into Scotland. Glad we did not do Skiddaw, our original choice, as it was stubbornly in cloud all day.silverwolf_alan03/11/2023
Elsewhere today Storm Babet was wreaking havoc across the country but here it did at least remain dry and not excessively windy; though felt really cold for the time of year. Delightful hill anyway and one I'd certainly love to come back to in more pleasant conditions another day.Alex C20/10/2023

An afternoon on Ling Fell then across to Sale Fell from Wythop Mill. A very blustery experience even on these low Wainwrights, as the back edge of Storm Betty passed through.silverwolf_alan19/08/2023

Today myself and Alma Aurea headed to Powter Howe for a circular walk taking in six Wainwright's - Sale Fell, Ling Fell, Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord's Seat and Barf, plus a couple of nearby summits. The weather was very warm and humid but from the forecast it looked like this area should stay clear of any thunderstorms or showers, which it did. However, despite the lower summit heights, the hills are relatively independent and quite steep it turned out to be quite a long day with some hot steep ascents! The walk took about 7.5 hours to cover the 15 mile route. No sign of a cairn, but some nice views. /Dmeltdiceburg11/06/2023

Day 2 of a big weekend of BGR recce/training, but left the BGR on one side today to explore the Lorton & Wythop fells, starting from Powter How with Barf and going anti-clockwise. Bottled out of Whinlatter as the drizzle got heavier, but it cleared whilst taking in Ullister Hill & Seat How. A grand day out, with plenty of grassy running & a decent amount of bog for Hazel to dash about in.NumptyDumpty05/03/2023

Free parking at Brumston Bridge to SW. Well used path goes E, then up the hill through gorse, finishing on the SW ridge. The summit area is of undulating grass with several possible HPs, all visited. Nice area to wander and enjoy views.Denise 01/01/2023
