On a walk from Thirlmere to Ambleside, via Helvellyn and Fairfield. Watched sunset from the top of Fairfield before continuing to Ambleside by torchlight.alistairpooler25/11/2023
With Izzy and Margo. From Striding Edge. Stuck to the sunlit crest where there was no ice. Margo's chest harness proved once again invaluable to get her through a few tougher sections. Missed the Dixon memorial. Not bad going at all and superb 360 views. Surprisingly mild on the summit with no wind whatsoever. Didn't feel like 10 years since I was last here. Onto Catstye Cam.James McKnight25/11/2023

Stayed in Toddhills Travelodge, Saturday night, met Alex McBride in Glenridding on Sunday 26th. We headed up to Birkhouse Moor first, past Red Tarn and on to Catstye Cam. They up via Swirral Edge to Helvellyn, had lunch in the X wind shelter, then over Lower Man, Whiteside Bank and up onto Raise. From Raise we descend NW, checking out the ski tow then rejoining the path at the old mine workings. Alex continue on for Sheffield Pike, while I dropped down to the hostel and back to Glenridding. 06:35hrs all in, Helvellyn had intermittent clouds, but good views in between the clouds and on the other smaller hills. Helvellyn is my 6th and final Furth Munro (in England).chillyman826/03/2023
