7th time around the fabulous Fairfield Horseshoe, on a glorious sunny clear, calm autumn day, with low mist in the valleys to start. A beautiful day to be on the Lakeland Fells, with L. Overnight frost on the grass but warm in the sun then inevitably chilly in a breeze on top. Saw a lonesome foxhoud looking for its pack -peering into the corries, but ignoring us people. We heard a horn in the far distance. 26th ascent of Fairfield in total.Chris Pearson12/10/2023

Last Wainwright on our Grasmere YHA -> Stone Arthur -> Great Rigg -> Fairfield -> Travellers' Rest boozer almost circular. East climb up from Great Rigg, the top was a lot more desolate than expected! Descent was to Grisedale Tarn, which was unpleasantly steep and slippy. The Tarn was entirely beautiful though.Ham and Skate04/04/2023

From Grasmere and up Stone Arthur and along to Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag and Little Hart Crag and down to Ambleside from the Scandale Pass. I may have climbed some of these hills back in 1996 but can’t recall if I had reached the summits or not. So after a long wait I’ve revisited them all. Weather hot and sunny views to the Pennines and Southern Scotland. Time just under 5 hours for 11 miles.isabelle09/08/2022
