7th time around the fabulous Fairfield Horseshoe, on a glorious sunny clear, calm autumn day, with low mist in the valleys to start. A beautiful day to be on the Lakeland Fells, with L. Overnight frost on the grass but warm in the sun then inevitably chilly in a breeze on top. Saw a lonesome foxhoud looking for its pack -peering into the corries, but ignoring us people. We heard a horn in the far distance. | Chris Pearson | 12/10/2023 |

From Grasmere and up Stone Arthur and along to Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag and Little Hart Crag and down to Ambleside from the Scandale Pass. I May have climbed some of these hills back in 1996 but can’t recall if I had reached the summits or not. So after a long wait I’ve revisited them all. Weather hot and sunny views to the Pennines and Southern Scotland. Time just under 5 hours for 11 miles. | isabelle | 09/08/2022 |
