Parked at the hause opposite Martindale church. Took the road to Garth Heads and the sloping path up to High Dodd, a snow slushy Place Fell, Round How, Chapel in the Hause, Beda Fell/Head before dropping to the road ahead of the Nickles. Cloud base around 500m so brief views on the first and last tops and the hause in the middle. Very wet both from above and underfoot. Breezy. With Gillian.richard6930/12/2023

The walk from Patterdale was via Side Farm, right up to Boredale Hause, north to Round How where we had our picnic. North onto the top of Place Fell and then north east to Hart Crag. We saw red deer here. Left of High Dodd and High Knott (near Sandwick) and then to Ullswater. Travelled west along Ullswater Way all the way back to Patterdale. The whole walk was incredible! One of the best! Superb clear views and interest the whole time. Warm!jking10/10/2022

With a almost guarantee of a temperature inversion we made our way to potentially do red screes. Setting off at 5:30 when we got to the top of kirkstone pass it was still dark and the inversion was very low over Ullswater so it was decided to revisit Place Fell. 1st of her new round. so Parking up at the white Lion and wearing my xmas jumper and hat we made our way in the dark to Boredale Hause just under the summit we stopped and watched the sunrise whilst it was still frosty below, the light lighting up the Helvellyn range. It was breath-taking and some of the best pictures Ive taken. At the summit we drank whiskey and mulled cider before heading towards the cloud inversion. Not knowing we had gone the wrong way and added on about 4 extra miles we made it to the Ullswater way path around the lake and back to the car. we were just above the amazing inversion so i didnt mind the extra miles. Absolutely brilliant day. We stopped at teebay for a scotch egg then home for a chineseScotty 2 Hotty19/12/2021
