Clockwise circular walk (with Helene) from Sadgill up Gatesgarth Pass as far as the junction for the Nan Bield Pass. Up onto Branstree and onto Seaside Pike via the Pillar and pools. Then took a cross country route contouring around to Mosedale Cottage where we cooled off from the heatwave conditions (most welcome!). Up onto Tarn Crag and then across a very dry bog to Grey Crag. Returning via Great Howe and Stockdale.Butty14/08/2022
A poor day for weather, cloudy throughout and drizzly rain picking up as day went on but a good walk nonetheless. From Sadgill east on signed but faint path to stile onto access land. Though nit marked on map path continues all the way up to Grey Crag and on to Tarn Crag though a bit vague in places. continued north along wall over coll and part way up towards Selside Brow then west on easy grassy ground to head of Gatesgarth pass. easy even in the cloud. Rest of route all on path. Up to Harte Fell and south to Kentmere Pike the ENE along wall to mine workings where pickd up disused mine track doen to main valley track. Easy all the way.dickscroop23/07/2022

From Sadgill. 9.5 km, 530 m asc. NW up the steep slope to Great Howe and continuing to Grey Crag (Sleddale Fell). NE across the Greycrag Tarn bog to Tarn Crag (Sleddale) summit and the survey pillar. Continue down to Brownhowe Bottom to join the Gatescarth Pass track back to Sadgill. Dry, too windy for the intended route up to Harter Fell and back by Kentmere Pike. https://www.flickr.com/photos/samandjo/albums/72177720300138979SalmonJoe17/06/2022
