From the bus stop just beyond Hartsop, which is right by where the path starts. Simple path to follow. After this I did Dow Crag and then the Fairfield horseshoe anti-clockwise. Weather forecast must have put people off as I only saw one other walker until I was coming down from Fairfield. | Richard | 22/09/2023 |

With Sue from Cow Bridge, on 2nd Round of WRs, nice horseshoe of Hartsop Above How and Dove Crag. Return via impressive Dovedale. Excellent views between cloud, cold often sunny but path often covered in ice and hard snow. Fading light had to mis out Stangs. | Frank | 21/01/2022 |

Solo walk from Brothers Water. High Hartsop (519m) first and Little Hart Crag (637m). Then another down and up to reach Red Screes (776m), then Middle Dodd (642m). Then I made the most difficult detour of the day, dropping to Stangs (474m) so I could bag the summit and then climbing all the way back to to Dove Crag (792m) and Hart Crag (822m). I then made a detour over to Great Rigg (766m) returning via my highest point of the day at Fairfield (822m) before walking back to Hart Crag and descending the ridge via the two summits on Hartsop above How (586m).

A challenging walk as once on the fells I seemed to be constantly going up and down with very little level walking and the step counter measured 25 miles of 'real' distance walked. It was clear and sunny the entire day, some of the best views I've had up here for ages and relatively quiet considering the weather and time of year. | meltdiceburg | 12/06/2021 |
With Keith from Deepdale Bridge up ridge to Hartsop above How (2 left) and on in poor visibility to Hart Crag. Nasty on wet rock off to Dove Crag then down to Scandale Pass (no point in Little Hart Crag in visibility) and back to car via Brotherswater. Unpleasant conditions all day. | SS | 10/06/2021 |
With Dad and Ann-Charlotte. Parked at Cow Bridge and took the very steep path straight up through the woods. Lots of leg pain! Path went to a stile crossing the mountain wall below Blea berry Knott. This woodland path looked very slippery for a descent. Straightforward walk to the summit on a perfect day for some Wainwrights on the Air radio activity. We descended the full length of the ridge but found that the permissive path starting NY399139 on the map had been erased on the ground so we had to continue to Deepdale bridge and walk along the road and in the NT woods on the provided footpaths. | M0YDH | 06/06/2021 |
