Getting dark on a very long snowy walk. Glad to finish this one!ejjohnstone04/12/2023
Solo afternoon outing for 3 hours. Lovely clear icy and sunny day. My aim was a circuit to include the 4 Lamps below Dove Crag. Joined the voi normale nose path half way up at the stile having approached off piste making a slanting climb through bluffs and dead bracken from foot of Caiston Glen as parked car in layby 600m S of Brothers Water. Unfortunately the low sun was now in the SW and so I was in the icy shade all afternoon. Regarded it as refreshingly cool as Al Rouse once tried to persuade his team mates when climbing on the cold shady side of Changabang in the Himalaya.Chris Pearson25/11/2023

My fourth round of the 4 Red Screes Wainwrights from the car park at Brothers Water, visiting Middle Dodd. Red Screes and its Synge Raven Crag, Little Hart Crag, and High Hartsop Dodd. Then I retraced my route back past Little Hart Crag and east along the ridge, before dropping by the old fenceposts past the impressive around Stand Crags to Stangs. A magnificent area below Dove Crag that I have not previously visited in my 60 years of Lakeland walking. Finally dropped down to the main track in Dovedale and back to Brothers Water. A great day, despite the misty conditions. 17km with 970m ascent 6h30m.silverwolf_alan31/10/2023

Solo walk from Brothers Water. High Hartsop (519m) first and Little Hart Crag (637m). Then another down and up to reach Red Screes (776m), then Middle Dodd (642m). Then I made the most difficult detour of the day, dropping to Stangs (474m) so I could bag the summit and then climbing all the way back to to Dove Crag (792m) and Hart Crag (822m). I then made a detour over to Great Rigg (766m) returning via my highest point of the day at Fairfield (822m) before walking back to Hart Crag and descending the ridge via the two summits on Hartsop above How (586m). A challenging walk as once on the fells I seemed to be constantly going up and down with very little level walking and the step counter measured 25 miles of 'real' distance walked. It was clear and sunny the entire day, some of the best views I've had up here for ages and relatively quiet considering the weather and time of year.meltdiceburg12/06/2021
From Brother’s Water solo (although GFE running harder loop clockwise to my anti-clockwise hike). Gorgeous day. Dip in Brother’s Water to finish. Icy but joyful.Fionalevey20/03/2021

From Ambleside up ridge over Low Pike and High Pike and on to Dove Crag in strengthening winds. Headed off past Little Hart Crag to High Hartsop Dodd but didn't bother with LHC in either direction due to wind (done before). Got blown off my feet dropping to pass before an easier walk down to Scandale Bottom and return to Ambleside.SS26/09/2020

Parked at the Kirkstone Pass and tidied up a few tops - Raven Crag, Snarker Pike, Middle Dodd and High Hartsop Dodd. Driving sleety rain for the first two hours did not make it all that pleasant.clivevilla03/09/2020
