Parked at Rydal Cricket ground, free but donations requested, good place to park for Fairfield Horseshoe. Left car park at 0920 walked the horseshoe anti-clockwise, the wall on the left kept us safely on the path as it was very misty. Needed Wainwrights book to identify the summits all the way round.karentracey05/05/2018

Most recent of several ascents whilst on the Fairfield horseshoe.JohnW21/02/2018
From High Pike this got very difficult. Thigh high snow, sheer drops down in to Scandale Beck, slippy and muddy. Crossed the wall and was a little easier but very very tired at this point. Nice pointy summit with a wall running straight through the highest point. From here it was going dark so decided to go the longer and wrong way back to Ambleside. As it went dark we ended up climbing down small cliffs and just when we found the path and put our torches on ended up lost in a field full of bulls. crossed over the fence and made it down to the road before walking back to Rydal Mount. fantastic exhausting day and many many memories made.Scotty 2 Hotty09/02/2018
