On the Bannisdale Horseshoe. My way onto this is in the Ancow Brow N. top log (qv). Nice to get on a grassy knoll after the bog. The continuation to White Howe looked rough so I followed the trod/ATV track alongside the wall most of the way.pwheeler01/03/2022
On the way back now we walked through a wild flower meadow to Long Crag. This was the only summit of the day we struggled finding. There is about 4 cairns all at similar heights. Evenually after back tracking and lots of bog work we found the summit.Scotty 2 Hotty24/07/2021
The Bannisdale round from AW's recommended spot on a wide verge just after the Dry Howe Farm lane parts company with the Mosergh one. A very pleasant chat with the farmer in his field below Murthwaite Knott on returning from its summit, then Whiteside Pike, Todd Fell, Capplebarrow, Swinklebank Crag, Ancrow Brow, Ancrow Brow North Top, Long Crag, White Howe, The Forest, Lamb pasture and its South East Top.Nick Down130/06/2021

Most of the Bannisdale Horseshoe: Todd Fell - Capplebarrow - Swinklebank Crag - Ancrow Brow - Bannisdale Horseshoe - Bannisdale Fell - White Howe - The Forest. From Dryhowe Bridge, farm has created parking for 2-3 cars just through a gate (NY 5308 0181). 8 miles in wind and rain - surprisingly met some fellow Hill-bagging chappies getting wet like me!jonglew04/10/2018

WOs 98-104; Bs 83-90. A lovely sunny day so went for the Bannisdale horseshoe which proved much easier than W suggests because of good paths most of the way. Joyce with me up Whiteside Pike, then sunbathed as the rest too boring and picked me up at Dryhowe Bridge. Good path on to Todd Fell, Capplebarrow and nameless top but bad bog before and after Long Crag (summit beyond wall) and rough tussocks down from The Forest and over Lamb Pasture. Shoulder high bracken descending directly from Lamb Pasture to Dryhowe Bridge. A very satisfying day for 9 WOs and 8 Bs.BURGESS13/08/2017

Continuation from White Howe. Followed the narrow path down to a wall and boggier ground, following the wall up NW to the east top. Then west on the south side of the wall to the summit. To descend, headed down steeply to Bannisdale Head, working round to the track through the dale, keeping to access land away from the farm. Then track SSE back to the car at Dryhowe Bridge. From layby on A6 up below Lamb Pasture to Bannisdale Horseshoe but reversed at Swinklebank Crag to Grey Crag (an on the hoof decision) and back by Lord's Seat and Robin Hood and out bu High Barrow Bridge. Cool but sunny - excellent tramp.SS05/09/2015
Dryhowe Bridge - Bannisdale Head - LONG CRAG - White Howe - The Forest. Nice day after early cloud. Only 10 outlying fells left!citygent19/08/2015
Walked on my own from Dry Howe using Wainwright's Outlying Fells. Dull but dry by the time I reached here. Went much too far before turning down Bannisdale and nearly ended up heading down the wrong valley. Still after I had consulted map and compass I soon found my way back to the right path over this fell.flockwatcher11/08/2015
