On Bannisdale Horseshoe. I wasn't sure about bothering with this top but the best trods from the wall stile at 51660181 went towards it and there was a very good path off to the stepped wall stile to continue the walk. Good view of Longsleddale and Ill Bell ridge.pwheeler01/03/2022
From Whiteside pike it was the simple pathless route to the next. Few stones marked the summitScotty 2 Hotty24/07/2021
The Bannisdale round from AW's recommended spot on a wide verge just after the Dry Howe Farm lane parts company with the Mosergh one. WOs 98-104; Bs 83-90. A lovely sunny day so went for the Bannisdale horseshoe which proved much easier than W suggests because of good paths most of the way. Joyce with me up Whiteside Pike, then sunbathed as the rest too boring and picked me up at Dryhowe Bridge. Good path on to Todd Fell, Capplebarrow and nameless top but bad bog before and after Long Crag (summit beyond wall) and rough tussocks down from The Forest and over Lamb Pasture. Shoulder high bracken descending directly from Lamb Pasture to Dryhowe Bridge. A very satisfying day for 9 WOs and 8 Bs.BURGESS13/08/2017
