Path, then ATV other side of bw fence but went to HP over gaps in the bw made to give access. Thought I better as it's a 29 m drop! At the fence across, I turned R and went into Bannisdale at Dryhowe Bridge. Access land is respected all the way- stiles openable gates etc. Nice to see the valley, it isn't well seen from the hills on the horseshoe walk. Chat with farmer on the way back to car at bridge.pwheeler01/03/2022
From the forest we made the very steep 600 or so feet drop through very long grass before getting to a bull field to make our way up to the summit stones in the grass of Lamb Pasture and the final one of the day. We decided to walk around to the car as the direct route was very steep. Turned out to be a fantastic decision because we saw the biggest red stag we’d ever seen. Huge antlers we were in complete awe and shock as we watched it run with ease over the fells. Just amazing. After we got back to the car we went for a pint of tinderbox in Kendal at the Duke of Cumberland followed by a pint of hobgoblin at the DandP were we saw Wilson before spending the night in the back garden which I paid heavily for the next day. So much so we cancelled out scout scar walk and went to the zoo and for Sunday dinner in the ship inn in Bardsea followed by an afternoon watching breeders.Scotty 2 Hotty24/07/2021

Bannisdale horseshoe 1st of 10.Alan Caine29/08/2017
WOs 98-104; Bs 83-90. A lovely sunny day so went for the Bannisdale horseshoe which proved much easier than W suggests because of good paths most of the way. Joyce with me up Whiteside Pike, then sunbathed as the rest too boring and picked me up at Dryhowe Bridge. Good path on to Todd Fell, Capplebarrow and nameless top but bad bog before and after Long Crag (summit beyond wall) and rough tussocks down from The Forest and over Lamb Pasture. Shoulder high bracken descending directly from Lamb Pasture to Dryhowe Bridge. A very satisfying day for 9 WOs and 8 Bs.BURGESS13/08/2017
