Corney Fell Road > Great Paddy Crag > Kinmount Buck Barrow > Buck Barrow > Burn Moor > Whitfell > Corney Fell Road > Stoneside Hill > Corney Fell Road. Just me and H. Started off in thick clag and this continued for the entire walk accompanied by a strong breeze bringing a fine mizzle. Very wet underfoot with the decision to not wear gaiters being a poor one. Also forgot my sandwiches. Not the best day to be fair.johnkaysleftleg08/07/2022

7.3 mile circular from Buckbarrow Bridge. Followed beck then footpath up onto featureless Burn Moor, then followed trails across to Whitfell. From then headed back to col and onto rocky Buck Barrow then across to Kinmont Buck Barrow following fence to top of the pass and onto Stoneside Hill. Followed surprisingly busy Corney Fell road back to car. Great views in lovely sunny conditions and only saw 1 other person on the walk on a Sunday in the Lakes. Only 495m ascent on walk. Earlier that day we bagged Caw, Stickle Pike, Tarn Hill and Great Stickle.DanTrig27/06/2021

Another great day picking up Birketts on these hills of solitude!! The day started off misty, then cleared and we had an extended light rain shower in the afternoon as we walked from Whitfell to Plough Fell. Plus, we had the added bonus of spotting a meadow pipit clutch of eggs. A happy day of bagging indeed!!morgs4mountains12/05/2021

The Birketts Southern fells WHI-3 Started layby on corny fell road. GREAT PADDY CRAG- BUCK BARROW-KINMONT BUCK BARROW - BURN MORE- WHITFELL (Additional peak) PLOUGH FELL-STONESIDE HILL. Low cloud, sun later, tops confusing in mist and after easy path at start very few paths with walking on tussocky grass made it hard going in places. Views lovely when clear.Hill Wanderer13/07/2019

WOs 35-43; Bs 26-38. Cloudless skies so did a huge day with 9 WOs and 12 Bs. Parked at summit of Fell Road then quickly up and back Stoneside Hill. Excellent walk over Great Paddy Crag, Buckbarrow, out and back to Kinmont Buckbarrow and same to Plough Fell (dull). On over Burn Moor to Whitfell - best views of whole trip - and pitched camp under Stainton Pike. Joyce set up camp while I did Stainton Pike, then horrid boggy walk out to The Knott and much better back to White Pike, Woodend Heights and Yoadcastle. Walked back to Fell Road next morning in thick mist.BURGESS24/07/2017
