From Invergaunan, on Glen Orchy B road. up track for fair way then hard work up north ridge of Beinn Bhreac-liath then over to Beinn Udlaidh. Interesting route through forest to get back to car. Glad it was dry.PeterD07/06/2023
Beinn Bhreac-liath and Beinn Udlaidh from Glen Orchy, Walkhighlands routehummusg02/05/2023
Anti-clockwise circuit of Beinn Udlaidh & Beinn Bhreac-liath as per SMC book, with DRC. On ascent, should have turned off track BEFORE gate in deer fence. On descent, no problem with deer fence at NN 29803 35257 - a large section has been blown down.TRG31812/02/2023
Solo clockwise circuit of Beinn Udlaidh and Beinn Bhreac-liath from start of forest track on the B8074. Dawn start to try and escape some of the summer heat, but was still a sweaty slog up the tufted grassy slopes of Beinn Bhreac-liath. Was glad to reach the summit ridge, though views were a bit hazy. Descent from Beinn Bhreac-liath to the bealach a bit rough and steep in places but picked up a faint path up to the summit ridge of Beinn Udlaidh. Descended down the quartzite rock to the river by the forest and followed the (boggy at times) forest track back out to the car. Total time 4h 2mins.mproudfoot21/07/2022
Time excludes 40min cycle from top of Glen Orchy to bottom. Cycled down, walked back up over the Graham and two Corbetts. Very hot, sunny day – had to detour a bit for water. Way through trees easy S to N, probably harder N to S. New deer fence had been vandalised, which was helpful. Rounsfell04/06/2022

The ascent of Corbetts Beinn Udlaidh and Beinn Bhreac-liath up from Glen Orchy Farm and down to Invergaunan. Also visiting Meall Garbh and Beinn Bheag. 23km with 1320m ascent in 7h 40m. (S)silveracorn_alan31/05/2021
Met Alex McBride at Invergaunan in Glen Orchy we set off to get two Corbetts, Beinn Bhreac-liath (802m) and Beinn Udlaidh (840m). The boggy ascent up Beinn Bhreac-Liath was interrupted by a newish deer fence with no stile, so we gingerly get over it, which so much fun…. Beinn Udlaidh has a fantastic dyke of quartz (white/grey rock) from the north end of the ridge north east toward Invergaunan. Thick mist from around 650m upwards, no views on top, 07:10hrs all in.chillyman818/04/2021
14 miles 3421ft walk, start at By-The-Way Tyndrum, follow West Highland Way to top of hill and cross A82 road, up fence line to Beinn Bheag, Beinn Bhreac-liath and Beinn Udlaidh, down to Coire Sheileach and track down through forest to A82 follow road back to Tyndrum.stephenbuda24/08/2020
From the twin Corbett, picking up the faint path across the col. Then back to the col, east along the fence line and then down Coire Chailein back to the car on the A82. The sun had burnt the cloud away by this point and it was very warm.Owen B15/08/2020
ACW round from Glen Lochy Farm. An easy ascent via the track onto the shoulder W of Coire Daimh, detouring to Meall Garbh, with excellent views over Beinn na Sroine towards Loch Awe, rejoining the track to Beinn Udlaidh's cairns large and small, steeply down to the bealach and up to Beinn Bhreac-Liath (cairns small and large). BBL's N ridge is a marvellous aerial walkway, underscored by a small planning passing at eye level as it flew below Beinn Dorain. There is a high new deer fence towards the end of the ridge and a potentially awkward descent to Invergaunan - don't cut down much before the end of the ridge or you will encounter concealed crags. A pleasant walk along the B8074 to finish.Nick Down108/08/2020
Sleety conditions, poor visibility, helpful track from Glen Orchy Farm.summitter26/01/2020

Done with Smithy from Glen Orchy in late afternoon. About 100m SSW of the entrance to Invergaunan just next to a bridge is a forestry gate with a wide opening & plenty of room to park unobtrusively. A track/path unmarked on the map then winds through the forest, popping out next to the river for a while. Beyond the forest the track continues, overgrown in places through a gate in the deer fencing. About 1km short of the bealach, the track drops to a final deer fence gate. Headed up SW on heather, spaghnum moss & bilberry: tough going. Used ladder over fence, turned crags to R & then over easier ground for a superlative summit view. Dropped to the col & then fairly easily over to Beinn Bhreac-liath. Returned to col & followed deer fence steeply down to first gate & track back to start.NotReallyABagger10/08/2018
Circuit taking in Beinn Udlaidh and Beinn Bhreac-liath from end of track just W of Invergaunan on B8074. Recorded route (not that I'd recommend it!) and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.com/2018/04/beinn-udlaidh-and-beinn-bhreac-liath.htmlGayle28/04/2018
From Glen Orchy Farm, up the Land Rover track. It would have been better to begin through the farmyard. We cut across the field and were chased by two pigs (they're much faster than you might expect).Pete R28/04/2018

73rd – With Allan. From Invergaunan in Glen Orchy. Follow path along Allt Ghamhnain, take line SW up hillside around crags, gain main ridge and continue to summit. Head E and descend to col and ascend NE to second summit. Return along long ridge NNW to complete a circuit. V cold (frighteningly so), dry with broken cloud above tops. Snow lying down to ground level, several inches higher up and soft.RGibbs09/12/2017

From Invergaunan. Fairly easy going. Made sure I bagged the small cairn, not the large one! A bit hazy and breezy but nice and cool. No problem following track through forest to car parking area.Jhimmy07/05/2016

MC and JC. Climbed from Glen Orchy. Very cold SE wind. Water ice and very hard snow patches. Cornice on NE side of Udlaidh very impressive with several frozen gullies and waterfalls. No view (the gloomy hill?) and difficult navigation down to eastern bealach. Easy climb on to Beinn Bhreac-liath. Views to Tyndrum and beyond Loch Tulla to the Blackmount. Good views also to the Beinn Odhar 5. Great round. 4h 20mMartin6620/01/2001

Ice climbing in the north facing corrie (which is a notble winter climbing venue) Did Sunshine Gully (III ) with John Mawer. His first ice climb. We approached over the summit after a long 4km walk in from A82 to east carrying full climbing packs then dropped down to corrie -not the easiest approach. Then after long walk back again drove to Inverness airport to meet Lesley (she flew up on airmiles for free) and to cottages x 2 I had booked for friends near Lochalsh for New YearChris Pearson28/12/1996
Horse-shoe walk of two Corbetts from a mile down Glen Orchy from Bridge of Orchy. This one had most unusual quartz ridge, seen as white bar from miles away on A82, and I'd often wondered what it was.Aye Jimmy03/03/1996
