Quick bag before the journey home, parked at windfarm entrance. Went to the furthet turbine, then followed the wall looking for the pallets others have mentioned. Found them discarded on the ground, but the wall has been knocked down twice at the T junction, so easy enough to get over here. Best to look for this as its a tricky wall to get over.hils26/02/2024
As per Rockdoctor and others. Grid reference for pallets over broken wall (as not visible till you are nearly there) = SD 58559 94123. Back by windfarm track.willyross06/02/2024
On the way down to Heysham to catch the Steam Packet to Isle of Man with my Dad. We parked at the entrance to Lambrigg Windfarm, Dad waited in the car while I nipped up to the highest wind turbine. Then cut across the heathery hill to clumsily get over a stone dyke and up to the summit. The old GR to the west is visible, but this one does look higher. Back the same way, 38mins all in.chillyman827/10/2023
Along wind farm road from the S, where there is ample parking besides the access gate. Over to the ROW and onto the old and new summits.summitter07/10/2023
As others, parked near quarry side road and took the fp and wall to the pallet ‘gap’. Ensured pallets were properly repositioned and tied in on return. Solo.richard6929/09/2023
From Roan Edge quarry to the south, along the ROW to the gate leaving the windfarm land, then followed walls. Over the pallet covering the broken wall as per previous accounts below. On reflection, this is a poor route as it involved climbing and potentially damaging further a dry stone wall. Maybe there are better ways over from the northRockdoctor13/08/2023
A revisit. There is a substantial stone wall with a strand of barbed wire to cross. Two broken areas are filled with wood pallets, both offering easy crossing points. Not sure why this field is not Access Land. Solo.Dangerous Dave08/08/2023
3.8 mile walk from the quarry entrance. Along ROW towards the old summit of Lambrigg Fell. Near the 3-wall junction there is a pallet up against the wall held up by a single strand of barbed wire. This is probably the easiest way to cross to the proper summit even though the wall is a bit crumbly. After bagging the summit we retraced our steps to the car and followed the path between quarries up to Summerhouse Hill. The gate to get into the trig field can be opened. The curious sheep even came up to welcome us. Back to car. 172m ascent. Nice views for little hills towards the Lakes and the Howgills. Summerhouse Hill has a better summit than I would of expected. Earlier we bagged Penrith Beacon. Now all that's left is a long drive down the M6 home.DanTrig05/03/2023
Good parking on old road/quarry entrance. Up row to old top then over wall via pallet to new top. Back same way.Flatfield17/07/2022
Quick up and back from the quarry after stopping on the way back from the Highlands. Visited true summit saw Curlew, Oystercatchers and Meadow Pipits. Very windy. Views to cloud topped Howgills. Lakes obscured by shower clouds. Time taken 45 minutes for 2.2 milesisabelle10/06/2022

From Roan Quarry road via bridleway.vuirich27/07/2021
I found Summerhouse Hill with the trig to the south more interesting, but this was still alright enough.Alex C13/06/2021
From layby on the A684,just down from the windfarm entrance: Lambrigg Fell, Lambrigg Fell Old grid reference and Summerhouse Hill. As noted by others, there are high walls to climb to access Lambrigg. Good view points on all summits.Lazylizzie22/05/2021
Enjoyable jog up from W via road and via Docker Fell. Other routes likely better for wall crossings.davechaffey02/05/2021

The ascent of Lambrigg Fell from the A684 - a quick trip at the end of a 5 Marilyn day in southern Cumbria. 3.6km with only 60m ascent in 1 hour. (S)silveracorn_alan11/02/2018

From windfarm entrance where it says dont park. Loads of room though. Numerous lumpy tops but the highest is fairly obvious. Views spoilt in my opinion by the turbines..stig_nest15/09/2017
No. 4 of seven M6 Marilyns. Parked in the quarry road, no-one about. Off piste from the bridleway gate, rough pasture and boggy bits, to the wall. Climbed over at the wall junction, fairly easy but not as low as some imply. No idea why the summit is not access land, it's just as rough as the wind farm land, with the extra bonus of lots of heather. Looks like moorland to me. Nice views from the top, but otherwise not the most exciting hill in the world.Gill26/08/2017
Quickie while heading south in overcast weather – feet v wet. Rounsfell26/07/2017
From the road lay-by, across the fields and up the track. Also visited the other top, just in case! Good views south.Play2End15/06/2017
From south, parked in quarry road, just beyond entrance. Take old right of way, easy walking. Windy, overcast, dry, warm and good views, both tops, in fact all the nearby bumps - in case.iangalbraith12/06/2017
2 of 3: From Roan Edge Quarry. With Tim.ChrisR21/04/2017
Not the expected pushover. No parking at wind farm entrance, and a high wall defends summit from south top. Probably best to stay on track till end of wind farm, where the wall is lower.Topographer5705/04/2017
Parked on quarry road in layby opposite the bridleway to Summerhouse Hill. Back to & across A684 then followed bridleway then wind farm track. Took in both summits which required a bit of easy wall hopping & then returned via bridleway. On own.MorecambeMonkey04/03/2017
5th of six Marilyns around Kendal with AW. What a day! Easy walk from wind farm gate where there is room for a car or two. Go directly underneath Nmost turbine then wall is moderately easy to climb. How anyone thought the other top was higher is beyond me!Mark Jackson22/12/2016
