parked at the castle and made our way down the Esk Trail. quickly stopping at the gorgeous tarn for a look and to be back later. quickly made it to the summit. this is a fantastic fell with huge views. loved just sitting at the top taking it all in. made our way back to the tarn where Bec has a dip in the tarn. met 2 men and 2 dogs on the way down who suggested a good dipping spot near black combe. quickly got back to the car to drive to the next one.Scotty 2 Hotty03/02/2024

WOs 47. After a cloudy day on the circuit of Great Worm Crag the sun came out to give a lovely evening, too good to say on Ravenglass campsite so went up Muncaster Fell and back. Superb views in all directions but surprisingly boggy underfoot.BURGESS27/07/2017

This was our 2nd time in 2 months. But today younger one at 2 and 3/4's came too without too much complaint. 4 year old ate it up. So busy on a Sunday, but met folk I've not seen in many years. Weather 14/15 degrees and a chill N-Westerly, but fine for sandwiches sunshine and coffee in the lee. This was the first time we'd recognised the Trig point isn't actually the highest point. (Well it is, but only because of it's presence) So technically our first ascent with the whole family there to experience. Ice creams in Ravenglass topped things off.nukeboy125/06/2017

A revisit for this years log, parking just up from the Castle car park. Lane is in better condition than previous, past the fish lake and then good path to the trig summit. The 'new' top could be seen a few hundred metres away across a lower lying area of land. Sheep tracks followed up through short bilberry, grass and heather to the top. Again looking back the trig top appears higher, optical effect perhaps.nordicstar21/09/2016
