From PROW to East though there appears to be many routes with no obstructions. Descended north to PROW to viewpoint but views better from summit .mart079724/01/2024

Having been to the gym, we set off 9ish in the snow for the lakes. Listening to Rumours on the way we soon got to Bowness on some icy country lanes, parking next to Jackson where we ate for Carols 60th in Feb. setting off up the hill passed the apartment we also stayed in for that birthday we soon made it onto the fell. Bec had a quick play on the rope swing before continuing up. We soon made it to the top of this great mini fell covered in snow and crystal clear views across the lake. From the fell we went to Windermere xmas markets and had a look around stopping for a drink. On the way home we stopped for an amazing dinner at the Royal Oak in Lindale before going home for a corrie marathon. Great day!Scotty 2 Hotty11/12/2022
From Bowness-on-Windermere. Wainwright’s OF route.afoster06/11/2022
More or less followed the Wainright route from Bowness. With J.David Evans23/09/2022
Parking at the start of the footpath to the east. No deterrant notices whatsoever and it now appears that you are welcome to walk at will over the whole area. As you approach the top you will see a fenced-off area. This is for environmental reasons but it does not include the summit so don't go through the gate (be it open or locked). Follow the fenceline round to the summit.moorsman21/09/2022
From the minor road to the east. A lovely spot.clivevilla19/06/2022
From Dales Way using RoW on to open fell. Excellent views all round. Back via National Trust viewpoint to NW of summit, now somewhat obscured by trees. KeithByTheC14/06/2022
Revisit from E, for the trig bolt which should be a few N of summitRHW26/02/2022
Limited gravel parking at SD 413961. Ad hoc sign on gate asking walkers to stay on footpaths is evidently ignored by many as several ribbons of boot-shortened grass lead up to the summit from barely 100m NW along the public FP.Isbjorn25/12/2021
Up from Bowness initially along Dales Way, then good path to top with C.PeterD23/12/2021

Walked with Bruna from her home. Great view of Windermere, all the better for not seeing Bowness and the eastern lake side tat. Disappointing to see such a lot of new development creeping up the hillside Freezing cold wind. Snow flurries.Karmakarl09/02/2021

BRANT FELL (#5) - ORREST HEAD (#6) - SCHOOL KNOTTS (#7)mnph23/04/2019
Climbed part of round from Droomer estate Windermere including School Knott, Grandsire, Wainwrights unamed summit and Brant Fell. Glorious weather and lovely walk. Summit of Brant Fell had a family of eight joining the summit sitters club - my favourite sort of people... NOT. Don't mind anybody else just sit on the very top with your sandwiches. (Plenty of room elsewhere but no, the very top it had to be.)Grasmoor20/04/2019

WOs72,73,74,75 and 76. Rain forecast for p.m. so made an early start. Started from where Dales Way leaves the lane at Hag end and followed good paths to School Knott with good views over Windermere and up Langdale. Then went up and back over Grandsire and finished up and back over Cleabarrow. Then quickly up and down Brant Fell from lane just to the east with curtain of rain out to the west. Finally up and down Orrest Head in very wet and windy conditions - absolutely foul and no view of lake.BURGESS06/08/2017
