Parked at the top of the public part of the road NE of the 'Christian Centre'. Walked up the tarmac road to just short of the junction with the mine track, then cut across moss and grass to the summit. Wandered around the flattish summit area. On to Great Dun Fell.LizH13/09/2023
From holiday cottage in Knock. Pennine Way up to Knock Fell, Great Dun Fell, Little Dun Fell and Cross Fell. Had lunch at wind shelter on Little Dun Fell with nigelcmason2. Great Dun Fell, Little Dun Fell, Cross Fell and Knock Pike from the limit of access on Knock Lane by the gravel pit. Followed the radar station road on ascent and cut the corner over easy terrain returning from Knock Pike. The gate to the golf ball station compound was open so I was able to visit the true summit. Gloriously spacious walking.Nick Down107/07/2021
Blencarn ROW to Cross Fell. After revelling in the glorious wind shelter we took the Pennine pavement across Little Dun Fell to its big golf-balled brother. Over to Knock Fell before doubling back to the derelict Silverband Mine and from there the indistinct footpath to Milburn. Before tackling Burney Hill we had to roll two fat sheep back on to their staggering feet .. a kick in the shins being my sole good-deed reward .. perhaps making up for the many years of chops, shanks and kebabs.summitter18/06/2021
Anticlockwise route from Dufton, visiting the wonderful High Cup Nick first. Then across pathless ground to Murton Fell, Knock Fell and Backstone Edge. Returned via the miner's track.oldbagger2720/04/2021

14:00, 23 degrees, hazy, light westerlies. Footpath north from Knock, then headed west but couldn't find bridge over Swindale Beck so tricky crossing, bog, etc 'til eventually hitting the Pennine Way. Feeling under the weather so the ascent laborious, sweating buckets in the heat. Bit cooler and easy walking higher up. On to Backstone Edge.Wycombe Wanderer15/09/2020

Kirkland > Greg's Hut > Cross Fell > Little Dun Fell > Great Dun Fell > Knock Old Man > Meldon Hill > Viewing Hill > Round Hill > Greg's Hut > Kirkland. One of the hardest and most ambitious walk I have ever done. Hardest bag was the walk to Meldon Hill from Knock Old Man due the the terrain. Otherwise the hardest parts were the river crossings required for the route I took. Drizzly rain for pretty much all the time and had to walk to Greg's hut and back from/to Kirkland in dark with head torch. Solo. Don't know how far I walked but my watch said 64,000 steps / 6,000 kcsl mostly 'off-piste'.axoree14/08/2019
