The Thrang, river route to Outhgill, track then path to High Seat, Arch Styrigg, Hugh Seat, Little Fell, Sails, He'll Gill Bridge, Lady Anne's way. Basically Nuttall route 11.5 with extension to Sails. 10 miles. | JulieB | 22/03/2024 |

Parked just N of the bridleway end and S of The Thrang, at NY7832 0050 (space for a couple of cars). Along to Outhgill and started on the signed foothpath, but didn't find much of the path up the hillside. Headed ENE higher up (at least the steep grass was short), arriving on the less steep ground about 750m NNE of the summit. Disappointingly misty and windy. Found an ATV track and followed this round past a couple of cairns to the summit. Continued on to Sails. | LizH | 17/10/2023 |

From Garsdale station out Pennine Journey then up atv track to Bubble Hill then on over Sails (and Little Fell), Hugh Seat, Archy Styrigg and High Seat before following a decent track to the quarry below High Pike Hill, Then on down to row to Thringill, double back to Pennine Journey, past Wharton Hall and up to Kirkby Stephen station. | SS | 21/06/2023 |
18km, 3 hours, 40 mins. Outhgill church, Slough Brae Gill then Healey's Gill to summit. Then Gregory Chapel & became slightly lost on Arch Styrgg in thick cloud before finding cairns and on to Hugh Seat, Little Fell and Sails. Down to Hell Gill where I was mobbed by a short-eared owl then down bridleway back. Lots of lapwings + curlews. | John Eley | 13/05/2023 |

Early start to Manchester, things to do, had to pick up a girl from Kathmandu, got back to Appleby at half past two, then drove home to pick up the Boo, up to High Pike Hill then High Seat to......and it would have been nice if we finished the day and the poem by going to the zoo. But we didn't. | Alphaville199 | 14/07/2022 |
Outhgill - High seat straight up Mallerstang Edge (steep!) - Gregory Chapel - down to Hellgill Force and return to Outhgill | PreCambrianLife | 11/07/2022 |
Parked at point where Byway meets road at the Thrang, good parking. Walked north along the road to Outhgill then up path marked on map. Not used a lot but not difficult to follow most of the way and good walking. When I eventually lost it picked the best looking line to the ridge, again good going. Reached ridge about 300 metres north of High Seat summit. then south along the ridge on very easy and dry ground all the way to Little Fell. Cut back a little way to a fence down to Hell Gill Beck keeping the new plantation to your left. Over the beck and then pathless vaguely WNW to join the Byway back to start. No path but short grass with just a few easy tussocks. A good walk. | dickscroop | 23/06/2022 |

Parked at barn just N of Aisgill Moor Cottages (no parking). Along minor PFPs N to Outhgill - awful and obstructed mid-way by a newly fenced plantation and no waymarkers (recommend just stick to road). Awful direct ascent from Outhgill (mapped PFP barely exists) - not recommended, find another way. | Isbjorn | 21/07/2021 |

the route up from outhgill can be brutal slow over grassy tussock moor and a very strep ascent but achievable. Parking in Outhgill is scarece with locals moaning.
